What features would you want in a new Nintendo system? I'm sure this has been disgused a little in the N5 thread, but it seems like that was mostly talking about people wanting Nintendo to go to more adult oriented image and stuff, not about actual system features.

I think for new features, it should definatly have conectivity with the gba and the next handheld (maybe even with a built in radio signal to conect with?). I also think it should be backword compatable with ALL previous Nintendo systems (probably not out of the box, but maybe have a slot that you could plug in adapters, and have them sell NES, SNES, N64, and Gameboy adapters (which would have a game slot and controler slots (you could use your new system controler OR an original controler, which would be nice for like light gun games or power pad games and stuff like that) (maybe have the gameboy adapter come with the system)). A hard drive of course would be cool for save games and downloadable expansions. Maybe a built in online adapter (with 56k slots AND broadband slots). Make it so you could play multiplayer nes, snes, n64, and gameboy/gba games online with the modem (probably only multikart gba games). Also make it come with a wavebird type controler and have it be the standard controler for it, and have it so you can use up to 8 controlers, but have 1 controler slot so you can put in infomation that you don't want interceptet wirelessly.

What other ideas to you have for features?

it couldnt play old games online, they have to be built to be put on the net..... kinda sad, because i know i would like to sign on to NintendoNet,or whatever, and whoop ass mercilessly at Killer Instinct.

thats why xbox faans were pissed beyond beleif when they discovered the games they had been playing on XboxConnect (think Warp Pipe) for such a long time werent live enabled.

I would LOVE!!! to see some sort of systems that can support all the older games.

EX: a slot for the NES, SNES, N64, and a disc drive for GCN.

I think the color should use metallic or perhaps clear (so we can see through what's inside). And I hope the disc tray is the one that slides.

I hope it can reflect bullets like an XBOX can

or crush cats o_O

I think it'd be too clutter-y to have a slot for every console in one... It'd look more like a toaster than a game console...
For a console like that, the best thing to do is mod it yourself. It's alot more fun, anyways.

I'd say Nintendo should break down and add a dvd player. I knwo it's not really NEEDED, but it would be nice to have one less box in my room, and it would satisfy some people who complain of the lack of a dvd drive in the cube.

Yeah a DVD player is definately needed. A hard drive would be a good idea too. Wireless controllers are great to use so that would be a nice feature, though wouldn't it cost alot more to manufacture these as the default controller? I want the disks to hold heaps of info so developers never have to skimp on anything to make it all fit.

Imagine wireless controllers with rumble that run on either a rechargable battery or (even better) not a battery period! But that'll probably never happen.:(

not purple.

If they keep doing that connectivity thing, make it so I can pull some power out of the home console system. I hate having to worry about my batteries dying in the middle of a game. And using an AC adapter kinda sucks. All those cords, big mess, some going in diffrent directions(cords that is):(

Also if they stick w/ connectivity, give it the ability to use the gameboy screen in real-time. as in, make it so you can use it as the tv screen. playing multi-player games like a FPS where each player has their own screen to look at. A simple game of poker, where everyone has their hand held in their controller monitor so no one can see what they were dealt. Is anyone farmiliar with that old board game Clue? the cards you are givin play an important part in the game play, you could see those on the controller monitor in your hand and the board of course on the TV. Games like MGS where on the TV you could be watching from a third-person view, but the screen in your hand could be showing a first-person view, or vice-versa. or also in a game like Splinter Cell you could throw down one of those spy-survelance cameras and you can watch the camera feed on the hand-held monitor while the action continuses un-interupted on the tv screen. Those are just some examples that would make that idea interesting IMO. It could be so tight!:)

Wow, never thought of all that. Some simple yet brilliant ideas, especially with the board game and poker stuff --~ "smokin joe, stop gettin in all my posts" "No, I didn't mean it like that. All I was sayin was ...... No, you can't leave! Please, I beg you don't leave, come back, nooooo!!!"

The wireless controllers could have a lithium battery like the GBA SP and when it was time to recharge them you could just plug them into a retrctable cord connected to the system.

Have the ability to download classic Nintendo games over the internet and save them to the system's hard drive (if it has one).

Maybe you could use the SP Charger to recharge the Wavebird2's.

I love the connectivity security camera ideas. This would make hardcore fans of games like Splinter Cell buy an N5 just for those cool features.

Ya know how the Xbox has that thing that pops up when there's no game in the slot? You can chooses settings and music and junk...well, GCN has one too, just not as cool. Nintendo could make a hella cool interactive deal that should include games (classic Mario/Zelda/Metroid anyone?)

And it should have a sliding tray. And it should have a CD/DVD drive, cause that helps sell more consoles. It should also have it's own link cable included, so you don't have to buy one...and the cable can link both GB Elites, and other N5's.

It should also have that "use GBA's as personal screens" idea that COTTON came up with, that's a damn good idea. It should also have regenerative abilities, so that scratches and getting smashed or wet never harms it, because it keeps growing back. It should also have the ability to spawn smaller, yet extremley viscious N5's, too attack anyone who is beating who at mutliplayer.
