I love Nintendo but their lagging sales are their own fault

Nintendo should be at the top of the sales charts and dominating over the rest and im sure everyone will agree. but why isnt it? because they allowed sony to release the PS2 a full year ahead of the GameCube. the PS2 was the first high powered console of the next-gen era and it offered things that no console had seen before, so everyone jumped on the new technology. now when the PS2 first came out it had hardware problems but that didnt stop massive sales. the only, and i mean only reason sony is ahead is because Nintendo underestimated the system and now they are paying for it.

And no, Nintendo has done very little wrong that has had a major affect on them this generation. All of their mistakes came with the n64 and it is because of that system that this current one isnt on top. No matter what Nintendo has/could have done this generation, nothing would be able to make up for their n64 mistakes and that is why they have to battle for 2nd

Yeah it was the 64 that really set it up for everything. If the 64 had been released ahead of the playstion and things had been handeld a little differently(like using disks) who knows, Sony might have been killed off and never released the PS2. That said, you cant really debate over what might have happened, because it never did, and never will.

I agree with everyone, and I would like to add that there are MANY reasons why Sony is in the lead right now.

Some are Nintendo's own fault, and some are not. The first real bad mistake was screwing over Sony, and Square at roughly the same time.

I really don't care about whether it's no.1 or not. I just care that Nintendo's financially well off enough to stick around and keep on producing the systems and games that I love. As long as they're around makin systems and games, I'm there!:)

Well actually Nintendo is at the top of the charts...not sure what charts your looking at...Gamecubes are selleing like crazy and are the current top-selling system...PS2 is still close behind but X-Crap(oops, I meant x-box) is far behind, and the GBA SP sales are way up, selling what Nintendo hoped it would...
