Has anybody else seen The Boondock Saints? Most people I've spoken to haven't even heard of it, which is a shame since it's so incredibly awesome. Not only is it funny, but it definitely gives you food for thought. The action sequences are great too. It's definitely one of my favorite movies. What I've said here is such an understatement though. I can't describe it, but it's a must see.

It's basically about two Irish brothers who, after a run-in with the Russian mob, have a vision from God where they are essentially told to "destroy that which is evil, so that which is good may flourish." Then they proceed to do so with one of the FBI's top agents on their trail. I'm being pretty vague so I don't ruin anything, but it's an incredible movie. After seeing it at my cousin's house twice, I decided to buy it and I was actually planning to watch it tonight for the third time in the past week. It's that good.

Matt's talking about my BD Saints play that I perform. It's a one man show written and performed by yours truly. I play all the characters and do all my own stunts. It's really good, too.
Oh, maybe he's talking about my BD Saints DVD that I bought a little while back. Meh, either way, he would be in for a treat.
EDIT: Sorry, I'm just not used to Joe being back yet. --~

One of my favorite movies ever!
Like the styles of Taritino or a movie like Lock Stock? Then you will love this! Slick style, great characters and some of the best one-liners you will ever witness, you just gotta love it.
I'm getting the DVD ASAP!

This movie is amazing...it originally came out in '99 but because of Colombine (I think it was that disaster) that movies and music took a hit. The movie companies got rid of certain movies so that the government wouldn't get on thier case for thier big budget ones.
Boondock Saints from a first time writer director was considered small potatos and they canned it...lasted a weekish in the theaters. You can buy it from Best Buy for $10 new and it is amazing. William Defoe is in it too.
Right now they are actually filming the sequal to the movie up in Canadia.

I know, Columbine was horrible, I personally blame the parents, but if you listen to the commentary on Boondock Saints, this guy got hit so hard by it. He just sounded so depressed when he was talking about how he couldn't get his movie out, you had to feel bad for him. It was kind of like Great Expectations, they gave him money to make his movie, took him through the entire process, finished the movie completely, and he doesn't get to show it where he lives. Sad, really sad. --~

I was wondering why I'd never heard of it before my cousin showed me. That really does suck though, and by that I'm referring both to how the director got screwed and the fact that two stupid kids thought shooting people would solve their problems. I also blame the parents, at least partially. How could you not know your son is assembling an arsenal in his room and making pipebombs in the garage? Anyway, getting back to The Boondock Saints, are you sure there will be a sequel? I'm not so sure it lends itself well to a sequel. What do you guys think?

I don't think that it lends itself well to a sequal either, but I know that they were making one. I'm really skeptimistic about it. You can look it up on the net, some place like imdb.com. --~

There is a sequal and I think it lends itself to a sequal nicely actually.
They are on the run. People are mad. Police don't know what to do.
According to Troy Duffy the writer/director/extra actor of Boondock Saints, the next movie starts with a prolonged scene of the end courthouse scene and goes from there :)
you can always go to http://www.theboondocksaints.com to get all the information and stuff on The Boondock Saints and the sequal, Boondock Saints: All Saints Day.

congratulations Ian, you've created an entirely new word! what do you get when you marry the words "skeptical" and "pessimistic"? you get "skeptimistic"
which, of course shares the same definition of BOTH the other words...meaning you're unsure of it, yet at the same time think it will be bad...

Good lord Matt! I didn't even do that on purpose, that's exaclty what I was trying to say, but I didn't mean to talk like Scotty. If I start to become ungoddly skinny, you know what you have to do Matt, you know what you have to do. --~
