I saw the movie at noon the day it came out. The sheer KickAssity of this movie is simply amazing. I liked it a bunch, but I drank a lot of soda and I had to pee twice during the movie. I loved it and am going to see it again for sure, I recommend it to everyone everywhere.

The movie would have been too long had he put it in in my opinion.

yeah, he did, b/c he never liked that part of the book to begin with. he also cut houses of healing out, which was far more central to the story, but you chose this bs to bitch about? i don't even like that part of the book all that much, and i LOVE the books. i don't think it would've been a good decision to keep it in...cinematically, at least, it's sort of anti-climactic...

I won't be able to see it until I get back (late Jan) - but meh. Damn, I can barely hold a bottle of Coke down during a 2-hour movie, let alone a LOTR one. >_<

I heard a good 1 hour and 20 min was cut from the movie, to make it a least sittable for theatres. So you know the extended DVD next year will have lots, the extened two towers had only 45 min or so of extra scenes.

Return of the King: Kicking ass, one day at a time.

Sorry to double post, but did anyone hear the conversation Sam had with Frodo, when they were just starting to trek up Mt. Doom?

It was when Sam keeps trying to remember stuff about the Shire, "Remember the green fields, the smells of the food..."

Well there's this part where he talks about Stawberries and cream, and I SWEAR to god, it sounded like he said, "I want to eat you with strawberries and cream, Mr. Frodo."

I asked my friends if that's what they said, and they laughed out loud right in the theatre. Too funny!

Thanks for not ruining it so far - some p**** ruined the last Matrix movie for me about a day before I saw it, I was so pissed of. Let me reaffirm to anyone thinking of posting a spoiler that if they do, I will steal their remains and sell them off as crack. Therefore, that person will spend the rest of eternity unevenly distributed throughout someone's nasal cavities.

So, is it good? ;)

I'm glad I didn't read the last book because now I can't complain about what's not missing. It's a great feeling not to bitch!

The best movie ever... ever.

I haven't read any of the books, most of my friends did though, so throughout the entire movie I had to hear them bitch about what was missing and whatnot.

Even though I had to piss a lot during the movie, it is easily the best movie I have seen all year. And believe me, I really loved T3, and this was a million times better:D. An epic.

It was the best 3 hours 21 minutes of my life and for the meager cost of a theatre ticket it can be yours too!

It was the perfect ending to LOTR...except the film had the damn longest ending I've ever seen in a movie. The first time I actually stopped myself from going for a bathroom break, but the second time I went twice!

Does anyone else think the evil eye...Sauron or whatever s/he's called looks like the evil eye from ETERNAL DARKNESS? In one of the cut scenes in ED, the eye is in a U-shape type thing...which is EXACTLY like the one in the LOTR movies. Wierd.

Favourite part of the movie <SPOILER> (highlight to read):

Towards the end...when that witch guy who "can't be killed by any living man" says to Arawin (is it?) something along the lines of him not being able to be killed...she takes off her helmet and says "I am no man" and kills him...I like that part :D

Boo.

Rotk passed any expectations I had, the only thing I wanted to see the theatrical version was the death of Saruman, but nevermind...only a few months till the extended dvd!

This has GOT to be the most well made trilogy ever... I can't think of another trilogy that comes close. Stuck pretty close to the book, the acting was phenomenal... it's just amazing how well made these three movies are.

Peter Jackson is the best directer in my opinion. This was worth every cent of my ticket money :p
