EDGE magzine reported that Nintendo plan to release in mid 2004 a 1.5 version of their last console, the Gamecube, which free internet connection will be included .This report comes after long week when Ninty Japan president said the Online is failure and AOL declared on new Online service for the Cube.
So,what its say about Nintendo?
#) Nintendo to release an SP version of the Cube ?
#) Nintendo ignoring her Cube users and release new console with full price and --Fuck-- her Cube crowd?
#) Or this is Ninty way to say 'Hi, we are not ready for the Next genration console war, take this mean while', while their Next Cube will be ready only on 2006?
Let to complains begins!
Its important to said that Edge was the first to give details and to discover the GBA SP version!

Edge is obviously a trustworthy source...but could you actually quote them? I don't fully understand what you've said there...

Mmm:
"To the newest number (131) of the game magazine EDGE of Britain, it is a game cube at the beginning of next year. It is said that there is description that probably Ver.1.5 will be put on the market. The report insists that it becomes that to which a broadcloth band adapter is enclosed and it can enjoy an online game for free.
Although a report is what took in advance the thing which should sell in 2004 or 2005 and tapering off is visible if the sale of the latest game cube is original, it is supposed that the advance of the next-generation machine is carried out to Nintendo, and it is thrown into it, or Ver1.5 is supplied noting that it is the last resort for drawing pub RISSHA and retail, and also there is no way.
Although mind like free anticipation is also carried out, it is once made a report. Incidentally, although it is said that EDGE is the magazine which carried GBASP first, I think that it is anticipation of ‚½‚½ too. "
This is note a quote from the magzine but this is my source..

This is coming from someone who has "Gameboy ADVANCE SP - Light you dreams" in their sig. Stop crying. Didn't we get a GBA 1.5 in the SP? Ugh. No-one is forcing you to buy it, for all we know it might not even exist cause it's simply a rumor at this point. I'll be purchasing the latest copy of Edge to check this out for myself ASAP.

Not beacuse its free :) and I have feeling it will be smaller and other things but this is-not my point, my point that from what I feel, its scrowd us,somehow,as Cube users and as Nintendo Fans. if Nintendo wil lrelease this console, their next GC wont release till mid-end 2005 and that make her be the last ,again, on the consoles war.
I think the same thing about the SP, you can be sure about that.
AND WHO CRYING  I JUST..MAD.. BUT WHO CARES, I bought my cube two month ago ... longer he will be on the market - Happy me
I got this sentence on my sig becuase its nice ... not more than that

How can you assume when Nintendo's next console will be released from this? Even if it is late 2005, that's what it is predicted to be for all consoles...or 2006 as has been said recently.

Who cares, all this 1.5 sounds like is a GC with biult in internet. If you want the broadband thing then just buy an adopter. God you peope freak out about nothing.

So you're bitching that this GCN will come with a free broadband adapter? This is no different than buying a GCN and getting a free GBA player. And Nintendo said they would be the first console out next time around (I can't assure you it will be, but that’s what they said).

I guess its a lot harder to install the Broadband adapter than I thought. It must be hard to line it up and push it down til it clicks.

I could see Nintendo doing this. Although I doubt there will be serious plans to develop titles online for GC, Nintendo needs to show developers that they have an online plan and that this will extend into thier NEXT console. This is going to be crucial to help woo 3rd party developers since Nintendo doesn't want to give the impression that it isn't following with the industry trend (even if the trend is WAY OVER-HYPED) and to woo gamers that are continually complaining that Nintendo is "teh suxorZ1 wif no online!!1" Console gaming won't take place en masse this generation, but next generation it *might* play a crucial role (in the same way that DVD playback gave MS and Sony an edge in public perception).
And if the article is correct, it's sounds like it will just be a GC with a broadband adaptor, which you can purchase at the store. Sony did this and I see no problem with Nintendo doing it. Either way, the GC you have will not be obsolete as both will play GC games. Your GC won't be obsolete until Nintendo's next generation console.
And if you are going to complain that you didn't get a free (INSERT any of Nintendo's giveaways), well that's the price you pay for being an early adopter; the GC is a luxury and luxury items sometimes carry added costs.

Hi, new here.
First, some (mostly 'Cube-bashers) complain about the GC not having much online. Now that there's talk about releasing a GC with a built-in BBA or pack-in BBA, we're supposed to be upset? Ha! If blablamax is correct, "it can enjoy an online game for free." Is this a new online game that isn't pay-2-play? Even if it's not, it's more official online support than we ever saw before. Sounds good to me!
I'd assume that if it's only a GC "1.5," then it has to be 100% compatible with all previous GC hardware/software, and that they won't be adding anything except the BBA and possibly consolidating some of the circuitry to make it cheaper to produce. Consoles often get a few internal revisions during their lifespan.
Adding new features this late in the GC's lifespan would be a really dumb idea, as most game devs will be switching to the N5 dev kits within a short time anyway.
Count on Nintendo to allow the older Cubes to make use of anything the 1.5 can do as long as you have a BBA installed.

Anyways, why would i be pissed about this? This sounds like good news to me. Am i supposed to be mad becaues my GC doesnt have internet? Well my GC also cost 200$ and didnt come with any games but im not upset with the price drop nore the packages. We are just a step closer to online on GC

The broadband adapter is no where to be found. Further if this is true then internet is FREE.
I don't feel screwed, just the opposite.
And besides we haven't got a conformation from Nin yet.

I really didnt understand the article but here is my take on it. It sounds like what Nintendo cofirmed a couple of months back. It sounds like that they are going to be releasing gamecube with a broadband adapter with gamecube so you can play your games online for free with the 3rd party devlopers choosing to add subscriptions cost. Not like the XBOX live were you pay for the service monthy but like Sony's plan. The only problem is theres not any online games to play besides PSO. So this must mean Ninendo is going to anounce an online plan and some online games next year.(which i posted in the rumors section) This is great news and also could mean no new next generation systems in 2005.I dont think Nintendo would release a new system in 2005 anyway cause they are still trying to sell more gamecubes.

Nothings even confirmed yet. As it is, its just a rumor nothing more. You really cant speculate until official news is released. Umm, just because it says Nintendo are planing on releasing the cube with a built in broadband adapter it doesn't mean they're still not hard at work on the N5.

Why's everyone getting so upset? This isnt the first time Nintendo has done this. Remember the NES? They released a 1.5 for that. And don't forget the SNES's 1.5 system. They were much smaller than their original counterparts and much cheaper.
Also, Sony did this with it's PS by releasing PSone... it ended up being what was needed to keep sales strong for the system. I've even heard that Sony's bought the rights to the name PStwo.
So whats the big deal? If you've already got a GCN, then don't sweat it, but for those that haven't gotten one for one reason or another, this could be their chance.
If it's just the GCN with an included BB connection, then there's nothing to get so upset over at all.

Nop That becuase it was transleated from Japnies to English by Astalavista :p
Ok, Your were right..I took it to much seriously. Maybe I thoght this way because I got my cube two month ago ... any way ... I still think if it will release it will opposit what Nintendo stated throw all the Cube way and I think If I was a developer, I would have seen Nintendo as unstable Company which doesnt now to stand after her attudes.
Any way, You can-not connect to the Online throw Israel .. I think .... not such a loss.... ;)

i don't understand how you can even put yourself in a developer's shoes, or even comment on nintendo's marketing/ ability to get devolpers and whatnot. you are not a developer. you do not work for nintendo. you, honestly, have next to no idea what it is like to run the business like that, you can't say you see nintendo is "unstable" . you can't back that up with any real information. you have no clue how other companies see nintendo, you have no idea how nintendo sees other companies.
also, we have no right to speculate, acting like we know exactly what we're talking about, until the facts are given, the facts are known, and the facts are understood.
but all that aside, if you don't want it, don't buy it. that simple. but if it has free online, and nintendo releases some first party games with online, that will be cool...(pikmin2? ;-) ;-) nudge nudge)
also, please, don't think that just because you're in the forums, you should use bad grammar......it's very annoying and difficult to read, so PLEASE, re-read your thing before you submit it.

You know what, as long as you can get the exact same features on an old normal gamecube (i.e. buying a BBA--for the GBA you could just get an afterburner and it would have basically the same features)
If you have to buy a new gamecube to use the new features, however, then I am officially jumping off the Nintendo bandwagon...

Ok, calm down people - this story has no "rumor" doesn't have much substance at all, personally, I wouldn't even call it a rumor! I bought the Edge issue, #131 and in the first few pages of the mag, they have a lengthy article on lets say...the state of the gaming industry, mainly talking about when slaes etc. this gen will peak. It's a small sentence of speculation. While talking about the GC's recent price cuts and its sales surge, the writer says:
"Alternatively, this could be the result of a corporate decision to launch its next generation hardware earlier than expected, or at the very least ship a GameCube v1.5, perhaps with inbuilt online adaptor, in 2004." - Quoted from Edge, #131
(As opposed to this price cut being a "last ditch" effort to get publishers, gamers and retailers back in love with the Nintendo brand).
I don't know what all the fuss was about...
i want to play online games against people.
