I can't believe that there hasn't been a Kill Bill thread...disapointing. ANYWAY! Was this movie the sickest thing on earth or what? That animated sequence had to be one of the best that I've seen. Your thoughts?

movie was amazing! it was quite bloody, but i've been told that Japan got an even bloodier version(more scenes, and all in color...no black and white). hopefully they'll release that version on DVD in the states.
the animation scenes were REALLY nice. im glad they did it that way, looking back i couldnt see how they could have done those scenes with real actors and made it work.
that ending is still tearing me up. i wish it was Feb. already so i could go see Volume 2

I wish i was 18 cause i really wanted to see this movie. BTW did it really deserve an R rating?

yes, it REALLY deserved an R rating, and i believe the only thing that kept it from getting an NC-17 was the black and white and the anime sequence. try doing those in full-blown live action color here in the states and you'll get your head handed to you on a platter by the MPAA. it's a shame really, b/c it's my favorite film of the year thus far.
you'll see it soon enough, though, just wait until it's released on DVD...hopefully it'll be a great package.

So far this is my favorite movie of the year. Eagerly awaiting part 2. I know I will be buying all 3 DVDs that Quentin announced. This movie should not be missed.

I loved it, I saw it twice in the theaters. I don't know about favorite movie of the year, but it definitely kicked some ass.

it was probably my favorite movie of the year. although i really loved 'lost in translation' and some other flicks too. i think LotR will give it a good run for my money, but that's really a different phenomenon altogether, if you think about it.

I want to see this more desperately, it sound so great. Quetin Tarintino (spelt that right didn't i?) is awesome. I loved From Dusk till Dawn, that vampire movie with him and George Clooney. He has an energy about him.

it's franka potente (milla jovovich is the awesome one you speak of from the fifth element...) from 'run lola run'.
she's had several parts in english films: 'blow', 'the bourne identity', and she's got a new one coming out really soon...
she's from germany, and tom tykwer (the director of 'lola rennt') discovered her in a bar when he was finishing the screenplay for that movie.
franka potente...if she ever breaks out of the hollywood machine then i predict huge things for her.

Blow kicks some ASS! I was looking forward to it for a really long time, and when it finally came out, my brother and I went to see it and it turned out to be so much better than we had expected. It also turned out to be much different than we had expected, it's really, in my opinion, more a story of one man's emotional journey throughout his life than it is of crime and drug running. That's probably just me though.

yes, it has depp in it. it's one of my favorite films ever, just like mcbizzel. it's really the story of the man, not the business, and i like that a lot more...
i think it kicks scarface's ass, b/c i think scarface is just a tad bit overrated. it really does glorify everything too much to be considered tragic...
