Since this is the place to show off your designs, I'd like to show off my latest design, GameCube Advanced. :)

I'd like to know what everyone thinks about my redesign of my original GCA design. For me this is my best design yet. I hope the majority of you like it.

For the site I like everything except that it is a bit too clumped to the left side of the screen. I run 1152x864, is it designed for 800x600?

Usually, 800x600 is the best resolution to follow. Anyway, it's good, but something about the colors makes my eyes get kinda strange after looking at it for a while.

You did a fantastic job on the site's design, Bill......

"A job WELL done!" :)

Awesome job, man.

Yeah, unfortunately, I've gotta stick to the 800x600 design rule. How do you think I feel? I use a resolution of 1280x960. the design only takes up half of my screen.

Lol I'm the same way Bill. Nonetheless you did an amazing job. I don't think people realize just how long its been in the works and how we all had to bust ass (mostly Bill) at the end to get it up. On top of that the PHP is AMAZING ... for the readers who don't know, on the old site I was useless lol I had others upload my stuff on this new set up it takes me 2 mins top to get it all set up and posted as a feature! If anyone wants to get a great design spend your money in the right place and contact Bill! Great work Bill and thanks from the bottom of my heart!

I like it. It looks a lot better than the last design, and it's also a lot faster.

The new GCA looks much more pro I think... and on top of that there are more options that will be added soon!

It needs more strawberries.

Other'n that, maybe do something about the luster of the metal. A little TOO shiny in some places.

Bill is truly a great designer. I know it is hard to create websites from PHP from the group up. Very difficult. And to get everything to match. Just sucks it is for 800 x 600. Too bad it couldn't be centered for all resolutions, then it wouldn't be as bad.

PHP definitely opens up a lot more interaction and a better setup. HTML is so old and not for professional sites.

Once again, awesome work Bill. I like both the layout & the php script

it's better but it seems to busy and crowded :( Also the forum layout is in my opinion pretty poor. Don't get me wrong the buttons and colours and everything are fine but the things like user info, sig, and avatar placement is really annoying too me. But that's just me.

MUCH better than the previous layout I admit. Awesome work Bill, I can see you have put a lot of time into it. It looks super slick :P

I must admit to you Bill I thought there wasn't really all that much you could of done with the design, I was wrong when I finally saw it. Your use of colors, and how well the design flows is impressive to say the least. It is glad to see you "still got it" and good luck at Full Sail and stuff.

I'm enjoying it. As a staffer, it has given me much more freedom than the old site and newspro ever did. Oh yeah, no more news deletions and reposting of 8 month old news! You gotta all love that right there. Yeah, so the design is par left on the screen but hell, it doesn't matter. I love the design and its a lot more friendly and the options just blow me away. If I keep going on, it'll become a review of the design so I'm gonna stop and just say that the way things are now and will be in the near future will certainly help the staff bring content to readers faster than we were ever able to before. Its loads amazingly fast and thank the good Lord for that. So yeah, I like it but remember, everyone is gonna have opinions on what they think is better or worse or what not. Its a lot better than most site designs out there right now, in my honest opinion, of course. So, thanks Bill. We've never talked before but hey, good freakin' work!

The visual is only one side of it, as a staff, I have access to the cms, and thats just amazing, no more hours of html coding for people who cant do it. Just type the review in the box click on the right game, give it a score and your done. The php script is simply amazing.

Yeah, if the staff control panel is anything like what like Miguel said it would be, it's tons better than the old GCA. The novelty of writing the HTML manually and uploading wore off rather quickly.

I also love the new forum layout, it really seperates GCA Forums from the hoards of templated vB boards out there. My only complaint is that the Quote btn is dif. to th eothers )tho it looks better IMO), but it's really only a very smal lthing.

Great job! XD

Hip hip horray. lol.

While forums are not greatest looking...I would pit GCA's design against any of the nintendo sites out there.

I love the design to heck! it's AWESOME Good work guys. Also MadSkill Great job on it. When my site launches look for a article on the site. it's going to be a very good one indeed. I can't wait for my site to go live. As a friend i am hoping to get free games and go to special events that would be very AWESOME for me as a first timer to one of them. :)

Thank you

I really like your design. You take colors trend whores use, and use them in completely different ways. You have a very good sense of design that I haven't seen at other GameCube sites.

Great design, a little dodgy forums and although many don't like it...I like viewing the site at 1024 x 768 ;)

The new layout totally pwnz. My only possible complaint, and it has nothing to do with resolution as I am using 1024x768 and it looks great from here, is that some of the graphics quality is a bit low. Other than that, awesome job. Color me impressed! :)

Eradikatus
12-01-2003, 04:36 PM
Standard GIF limitations are 128 colors. That being said, the color economy is excellent.

Rensa
12-03-2003, 08:21 AM
I thought they were 256 colours? Meh, they're damn good nonetheless.

bill TSM
12-17-2003, 05:35 AM
Wow, I'm really glad to hear all of my hard work is being appreciated.

I prefer GIFs over blurry JPEGs because I can get smaller sizes out of them with out losing quality and it keeps my graphics crisp. GIFs are 256 colors, but if I can get away with 128 colors, I'll optimize the graphics down to get the fastest load times.

And yeah, I can't take credit for these forums... they're too low quality for my type work. The buttons at the top are done by JohnXE and really good though, gotta give him that credit.

Congrats on the new site, interesting to see cube-europe.com have now got a new site too.

Id really recomend you chaning the forums skin, or creating your own, as im used to the standard forum layout - and I'm finding this really awkward.

yaye, im the 100th member :P:P

site owns though.

Hell yeah this site owns. And you meant 1,000th member. Yeah coem to think of it, it did feel awkward when I first joined and posted at these forums. But I got used to it.

The layout is interesting, but way too restricting.

Oh, and Eradikatus, your new sig looks much better. I also just got the pun behind your name. It's "Eradicate Us", which means get rid of us or destroy us. Nice pun.

Eradikatus

Nowadays I pronounce it "Era-dee-kah-tus", so there's not much of a pun.

I love this new site design. It has a professional look and feel to it. If I didn't know better I would think there was some corporate sponsoring going on...but wait...where are the ads?? :)

Why didn't you give the site a fixed alignment, so that it's centered all the time, kinda like this forum. It makes things a lot easier that way, or give it a great background like yaXay have on their site/forums to keep peoples eyes off the clear space.

Bkbro429
02-09-2004, 08:18 AM
I agree, about it being centered, but also, this was on big step over the old GCA, to me, it is like an updated Cube.IGN.com page, but better (and free :)).

Very nice, stuff you could get on other sites, and GCA, IGN charges you $20 to see it on their site.
