View Full Version : Auto News
Is there a thing where the news is going to automatically go here so people can talk about it?
I was thinking of something like that as well. Is the news/whatever posting junk custom-made?
I'm sure something like that should be integrated since, you know, it's on the same server and URL.

I'm sure that there was a way to integrate a category on the forums into the site news, but not the other way around.
There is. If someone posts news on the site, it can be placed into a forum. It'd likely be best to make a name like "GCA News" or something as the forum name, and maybe a forum just for the news (like GCA News).
But really there isn't all that much of a need for the news to be on the forums, or is there?
You can have news on the site go into a forum, GameCube Café has this set up... look at the main site gccafe.com then go to gccafe.com/forums and you'll see the exact same news on "Hot off the Grill"
They probably use Coranto, yeah?
Is the GCA news posting completely unique or not (downloadable like Coranto)?

Hey guys,
Feels so good to be back in the forums ;) To answer your question Lee, the site news posting thing was made up by Bill which I beleive is 'Bill' in the forums.

Hey Ray
Good to have the forums back isnt it?
BTW, are we going to have a staff topic thing like in the old forums?

It is to my understanding that we are going to look into this and work on it for a future release!

Yeah, because to just write comments in the articles themselves, it would just be a big pain for those who want to talk about them, instead they could automatically moved to a special forum news topic or something.

But what's the point of this? Isn't there already a comments feature for each news article? Or are you's thinking of this being the same way as N-Phile have set up theirs?

You should use XML with your news section, so then it forwards to here.
Coding in XML would take a bit of work for them though. They already had to get that l33t PHP working.

Yeah thats true, I forgot about that. I am used to getting news streams in XML, not used to programming them, so I dont know how long that would take.
