View Full Version : Favorite Childhood Cartoons gone BAD!

If we are over the age of about 18 (give or take a year)...you know of the horror that is a rehash. Most all of my most favorite cartoon shows have been discontinued and then rehashed into a complete mess. And even if they are not a complete mess...they are no-where near as good as original. Allow me to name a few:

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
X-Men
SpiderMan
Hulk
He-man
Transformers


sigh...i need to stop, i'm starting to cry. lol.

The new X-Men Revolution and the new Spiderman series
are terrible. :\

Executives seem to think that taking an old series (that is good) and added "XTREME" to the title will make people want to watch it.

This isn't really childhood, but the new DBZ(DBGT) has rap in it! I hate that!!! Stupid Funimation.

Oh, god. Sonic underground was HORRIBLE in comparison to the SatAM show they once had... That show was freaking awesome! Followed the storyline of the comics.

The original X-Men cartoon was most definetely excellent. I could watch it for hours on end. Too bad they got rid of it and gave us the newer X-Men Evolution, which completely sucks.

I kinda like X-Men Evolution. It's pretty good, but I agree, most of the new-old stuff is complete crap.

X-men is decent, but a far cry from the old x-men.
but at the same time I don't think they're meant to be the same...

as for the new transformers... *shakes head

I agree with everything, but guys, come on, Ninja Turtles? That cartoon used to rock it hard core back in the day. But definitely X-Men. I've seen the new one, it's way too dumbed down and goofy. It's just not up to par, not by a long shot. I agree with all the other shows you mentioned. Yeah, I remember that Sonic they used to show on, I think, ABC. Hey speaking of old ABC Saturday morning shows, does anyone remember Mr. Bumby? He goes bump in the night. Sorry, I have ADHD.

I love how the producers matched the colors with the character type....such a stereotypical show
Powerful white man: Red
Hot white girl: Pink
Nerdy white guy: Blue
AFRO AMERICAN: BLACK
CHINEESE AMERICAN: YELLOW

The He-Man remake is kind of cool in an anime kind of way, but it's nothing compared to the cheesy quality the original had.

Also ANY transformers after the first generation was purely god-awful.

i absolutely HATE the new he-man. i wish they'd just bothered to get the rights to show the old one. i am a complete he-man devotee. i still own all of my toys from when i was like four and five and shit...

The only "new" cartoon that is good (IMO) is Batman Beyond. But that's kind of old now ("Batman Beyond: The Return of the Joker" ruled).
