An interesting article from gamespot (http://www.gamespot.com/news/2004/06/09/news_6100299.html) wherein Nintendo President Satoru Iwata talked about Revolution and the next mario party (which is lso posted here in GCA). But the most interesting part that cught my attention is the possibility tht Nintendo may yet again aquire more stocks from the toy company Bandai.
This is not an official announcement but if it does happen, Nintendo could take advantage and have Bandai bring more games on GBA and GCN.
Share your thoughts on this one.

Most of what Bandai makes are Manga and cartoon licensed games. Those games are quite big over in Japan, but we don't see too many of these games over in the states. I guess this would be a good thing for Nintendo as a whole (sales and image wise) over in Japan. I hope this works in their favor.

It would most definately be a good thing, especially if they can get some Bandai games on the 'cube (remember, Bandai releases TONS of anime, and thusly owns the rights to them, which they could give/sell to Nintendo).
I don't know if it will happen though, since apparently Nintendo did that as a favor to Bandai somehow. I don't know the whole story since I don't pay attention to stock stuff, so whatever.

If Nintendo owned a portion of over all stock in the company, they own a portion of the company and a portion of any intellectual proprties they own essentially. If say Nintendo were the majorative share holders, they could pretty much dictate where their (Bandai) IPs land. and of course Nintendo would make as many of those as they could end up on the Cube GBA and DS. This is of course IF they were the majoritive share holders, wich they are NOT. Though, I'm sure if the oppertunity arose, they wouldn't hesitate to jump at that chance.

This is exactly what nintendo needs to do. They have dipped into the "War Chest" again and are buying shares in a big company to help get some more games on their system. I just hope nintendo gets Bandai as a second party (49% of the shares) so they can get bandai games exclusivly

This is probably one of the deals that Nintendo is making to secure the success of the Revolution.

only 6,000,000,000 in solid funds, not including stocks and other liquid assets. EA maybe first in the selling of all games for all consoles but don't forget that nintendo controles 10% of the market in games sold, and they only make games for the gc and gba

Well Nintendo kinda owns Camelot and if you didn't know Nintendo have been doing deals with EA. They've given 20 games to the Cube(well sports games and 5 have GBA link up). In their multiplatform games GCN has extras or exclusives and what about the EA games being players choice.
As for Treasure beats me I'm not sure what they are working on or doing at the moment.
To summarise: Nintendo and EA have fairly good relations and Nintendo basically own Camelot. Oh and Factor 5 are already working on DS and Revolution games. Rockstar is a bit iffy though. If Rev. can come out early we should see a good RS title.(Like Smugglers Run on PS2).

Most of the statement is right, but the Camelot thing ain't. Nintendo doesn't own any stake on Camelot. The reasons why Camelot is in their side is that the games are selling better on the Nintendo console and the Takahashi brothers(founders of Camelot) are Nintendo enthusiasts. They're also a relatively small development team.

SE is Sony Entertainment right sure it makes no sense Sony can't entertain you! Oh and what I meant about Camelot was that they are fond of Nintendo so they produce for them. Like what you said but I didn't say that. Oh and I found out about the new Treasure Game as well.

Ya, Camelot does as much stuff for Nintendo as they do for Sony. (I think) they've done some Hot Shots Golf games for the PSone in the past, amongst other things.

I don't necessarily think that Nintendo will really want or even need to buy out another developer. It might acquire more stock in bandai but that is more from a financial standpoint and investment as well as a way of improving developer relations. The reason Nintendo won't buy out a 3rd party developer and other companies ::cough Microsoft :: sony:: cough:: will is because nintendo can and will continue to make great AAA games and many of them as for the others, they need all the help they can get. Think about it this way, if you take away GTA, Final Fantasy, Metal Gear Solid, Devil May Cry and if you take out Knights of the Old Republic, and early exclusives like Splinter Cell and Full Spectrum Warrior then they wouldn't have anytime to sell their systems. Nintendo will always the publishing force to make new and exciting games as well as updates and sequels to fan favorites mario zelda etc...
