In a recent article of gamespot (http://www.gamespot.com/news/2004/05/29/news_6099595.html) a representative of the company reveiled that they (Planet Moon)are not only developing on PSP but only for PSP. Their strategy is to dump the development on PC, Xbox and Ps2 altogether and focus solely on PSP. The reason for this is they think that PSP is easier and cheaper to develop and it is the future of handheld gaming.
All I could say is goodluck to them since there's no clear future for psp.
No development kits and documentation in their hands, what are they thinking?

Talk about putting all your cash on 33 black. This is risky business, and if i were them, id develop for at least the PS2. At least thats already been proven successful.

70 million PS2s world wide, 0 PSPs world wide. That is indeed quite a BIG risk there.
Sony must of given them a lot of cash or support or somthin', cause I can't honestly see any one being that confident on a blind, seemingly dumb desciscion like this.

Wierd. 1. Even SQUARE (of all people) are being cautious about PSP and 2. I have no idea who Planet Moon are. What games have they made?

Planet Moon is expecting too much that they are going all out on PsP. It's not even proven yet and besides, handheld gaming is different from home consoles. And with the development cycle akin that of PS2, there's more work to be done and money to spend. They may have a hard time finding a publisher for their games. And if they do, they may only break even of lose than gain.

Maybe Sony agreed to publish their titles? Sure, some are willing to take a risk - but there's gotta be some reason that they're producing exclusively for PSP.

Maybe. But with the recent article from Polygon (http://www.polygonmag.com/news/index.php?id=2263) they (Planet Moon) should think twice before it's too late.
