Well, I know it will sound somehow ridiculous or somehow illusory ... but here is an idea, how Nintendo can still enter to the Online market with the Cube, in its half of it's life time (Better late than ever ... ):
Ok think about a new add-on/Peripheral to the cube which connected to the 3 slots of the cube controller. the first slot is you, the player..while the Peripheral connected to all 3 slots and in it there will be an HDD/Modem which will connect you to the internet.
Why to use the 3 slots: Now THAT is the great thing about the idea, via the connection throw the 3 slots..the gamecube will recognize 3 new players ,which are too, connected - and now any game which contain a Multyplayer option .. will be too an Online-Multiplayer game without any problem ... Now it will make the gamecube as a hardware which almost half of its titles has Online option - automatically .. Like Sony and Microsoft.
Yeah, but you'll probably ask, what about more than 4 players multiplayer? Now that's a little problem and the function for more than 4 players will be available only in new games, which will know how to use the Hardware for Multy-Online game which will contain more than 4 people.
What do you think?

I think that would be a good idea but i feel that would be prett hard to do. What i want is for Splinter cell pandora tommarow to go online and if it did then companys may want to start making online games.

bad idea..ill tell you why. If you go to play online, you can only occupy the game as one player. You wouldnt be able to have a guest, and that would suck. So, bad idea. Maybe if it occupied only one or two of the others, not three though. And Nintys not going online anyway, lets get on something else. (Ninty said it's not profitable)

You never know, they're going online with the DS...
EDIT: And if the device occupied one of the controller ports as another player, then the tv screen would be split as if there were more than one player in the same room, not a good thing.

Instead of all that, why not just make the new peripheral a HDD to work alongside the BBA that already exists? Too easy?
Putting two people online through the same system and modem would increase the amount of positional data being tramsmitted by a factor of two. Three or four would eat up even more bandwidth. When lag hits, it would hit all players on that system, which would suck badly.

Yeah. Its cause Nintendo have ruled the roost when it comes to Multiplayer games ever since they first started coming out. We all want to see Mario Kart or Smash Bros. Online because we have had so much fun in the past with them. It would be a wise move.
