Ps2 had very little of interest for me. X-Box has a couple of strong titles, but not enough to carry the system, IMO.

Ninty did a fine job at E3... what really made me laugh was the fact the sony had the guts to showcase the PSP right after the DS... and people were, well, underwhelmed

With almost all of nintendo strongest titles ( The mature zelda, 5 DK games, metroid, and alot more mario games) coming out in one year, which is also a year where all of nintendo'd competion is having a bad year they can't lose. Ps2 has gta san adrease and thats about it and Xbox has halo2 (which may not even come out this year seeing that it has already seen 3 E3) and conker(wow ***sarcastically***). Oh and there is that tiny little DS thing. GO NINTENDO!!!

i share everyone's enthusiasm, although not so completely blindly. get back to reality. new Zelda, DS and the others will own. i admit i was completely surprised by how good Nintendo showed up Microsoft and Sony. but Halo 2 will probably pounce all over the other good Nintendo games, as gravely unfortunate as that sounds.

i totally agree, nintendo came very solid this year at E3. but, i think that Star Fox 2 is VERY IMPORTANT for it to be an excellent game, heres why. Most of the games (MP2, RE4, Mario Tennis, etc) are guaranteed sure shot GOOD GAMES. since the last star fox to me (and to many others i assume) was subpar, i feel that this time they HAVE TO exceed expectations and deliver a shooter that well remember for this generation of consoles. The great fox cant live off his name that much longer

Nintendo did own E3. They went out there and proved that they're not gonna sit back and just slowly die. The DS received a huge amount of praise and applause at the press conference (and that was just when Reggie pulled the machine out)!!! I recall seeing Sony pull out the PSP for the world and not hearing a single applause. Anyway, the line up that Nintendo has in store will be set to keep them very much huge contender in the console wars. They're is no doubt that HALO 2 will most likely be the biggest game this year. But that's really all XBOX has. I mean there is DOOM 3 also. Same thing applies for Sony. They have a few games (MGS: Snake Eater, GTA San Andreas, Jak 3, R&C 3). But Nintendo has a several games and not just one to keep them on track for the next year and a half. Plus, they have the new Zelda leading their army of games. In the long run, Nintendo has the advantage. Plus, they still have another ace up their sleeve: a little game known as MARIO 128. We know when nintendo keeps a secret, they don't disappoint. All this is leading to thier "Revolution"of the next generation.

I speculate that Nintendo won't gain back very many developers that they have lost this gen. Perhaps some will develop for NRevolution (such as Factor 5) however it's not very likely that gamemakers will start developing GC titles now when the system only has a couple of years of life left before it's overshadowed by Revolution.

Who needs 'em anyway at this rate. '04 and '05 are going to be golden! (see avatar)

In refrence to Jak 3 and R&C 3, don't you think that Sony is kinda killing those franchises? I mean how logical is it to have 3 incarnations of the same franchise put on one system like that, especially so closely like that. Their isn't even mutch modification...

Personally I think Sony has fallen into the trap that Nintendo themselves had fallen into during the SNES days. They have become too confident, and think that now it is possible for them to do anything. I feel next gen will tip the scales back into Nintendo's favor, they know what it is like at the top, and the problems with being cocky, I think when nintendo reclaims first plave, their are going to hold it for a while

The next few years are i think the most crucial in Nintendo's long history. They will be the deciding factor to weather the once great company will be forced to exit the console buisness. I think they are going to do extremely well. The future looks as bright as ever. I predict that they will survive unscathed and once angain take back the crown of the console king (well sale wise :P)

ohh yeah, it looks that way, Nintendo has the knowhow, the fanbase and the memeory of past mistakes to guid them. Sony has spilled their downfall by having the guts to show of the PSP right AFTER the DS. The DS was met with loud aplouse, while the PSP was met with nothing. Sony has no hope left, The problems that plauge their PCs, CDs, CD-players, and so on also exist in the PS2 and PSP, but it seems sony is oblovious to their flaws. People just need to realize these problems, it won't be long before Sony falls not only as a gaming company, but as a compnay all together.

I think people don't realise that nintendo does extremely welll every year..... they sell more hardware than sony in the game industry ( GC and GBA combined ) and the amount of software they sell puts them up there with EA, even ahead on a world bases i think.......

I think that Nintendo has a lot of good games coming out, but I think it will take a while for them to pull ahead. Personally, I love Mario games and Metroid games, and stuff like that. BUT, there are lots of XBOX and some PS2 fans who see the mario games and still think it's a little kids system and won't get one. It will take a while for Nintendo to be #1, but at this rate, they could. And Koten, it will be a LONG TIME before Sony fails as a company.

I so happy i was looking at different E3 awards webpages after looking at gca's and a gamespy it had #1 Half life 2 ( i think its over rated it doesn't look that great the angain i never played the first) DS was #2 and psp #3. , but they did make me mad by putting metroid prime2:echoes 20th and RE4 like 16 or something.

I just can't see the PSP selling well, it will be too expensive, battery life will be too short, and a good bit of it's games are gonna be ports. And a huge part of Sony's fan base are casual gamers (if you can even call them true fans) and I don't think casual gamers are gonna shell out $250+ for a handheld.

"Nintendo" I know sony won't fail as a company soon, but it will fall one day, it makes so many crappy products. Here are some examples.

CDs: I bought a pack of 100 Sony CD-Rs. 58 of them worked. I bought a pack of 100 Memorex CD-Rs. All of them worked

CD Player: Dropped it on the floor, case CRACKED OPEN. Phillips CD player, dropped it, batteries popped out, put em backed in, worked fine.

PS2: A 70 pound kid stepped on it, and SPLIT down the middle into two peices

Computers: I had one, in one year alone, it locked up at least twice a day, crashed just as often, and the reboot disk didn't work

Digital Camer: Ate the floppies (ripped the metal tab off the end)

As you can see, Sony puts out some lowsy sh|t

Yeah, my expensive (don't know how much) Sony CD player will not read burned cds but my cheap, $15 no name brand cd player my aunt gave me will read them. And as for the PS2, the guy that works at my GameStop has gone through five, they all quit reading discs. That's why I never buy Sony products, never.

Well just to put things in perspective, Nintendo is getting there and I liked a few things they were doing in fact I am buying a GameCube after previously selling my old one, and a DS. I would not say however they beat MS at E3 in anyway, that is pure foolishness. For one there were more titles for Xbox on the floor, and at higher quality. Xbox had some heavy hitting AAA titles like Conker, Kameo, Fable, Jade Empire, Forza Motorsport, Mech Assault 2, Doom 3, Unreal Championship 2, Republic Commando, KotOR2, HALO 2, Full Spectrum Warrior, Chronicles of Riddick, Call of Cthulhu, nearly any damned Capcom and SNK fighter you can think of, EA on LIVE, and so much more. All of the games from what I played were VERY solid and I can honestly say will end up being must own games for many.

In comparison the most that Nintendo had that interested me aside from the hype around LoZ, was the DS, Donkey Konga, and RE4. Beyond that Nintendo had mostly disappointing and/or games that didn't even live up to the hype.

i registered just so i can point out that most of you guys are blinded by nintendo's greatness, and don't see anything else coming.

First off... after looking around the PSP is more popular than the DS. More people are excited about it. Just come out of these forums and look around the internet.

Halo 2 will outsell every game nintendo puts out this year. Trust me. It is the most hyped game as of now. The DS has a chance at beating it and that's it. And after that, the only thing that will have a chance is the darker Zelda.

XBox has an amazing lineup of games as well. And they have won just as many awards, if not more, than Gamecube games.


I believe Nintendo can come out on top eventually, if they continue what they are doing from now on. But it will be hard. It won't happen in one year, due to their lineup. I want Nintendo to win. I don't want Microsoft or Sony to win in the end. In fact, I was planning on getting an Xbox, until E3 rolled around and convinced me that I won't be able to afford one.

Nintendo can do it... but it will be hard.

There is always time. But why run a sanity effect this long. SpaceWorld is probably this year, but I can hardly even see them announcing anything then, except for new hardware add ons. I'm thinkin that SK might actually be gone. Unless, 3 months and 33 days later from April 13 they come out and say that it was a sanity effect and that here is the sequel to ED 2

Has anyone seen G4 on techtv. It has all these shows about video games which i figured would make me happy, boy was i wrong. Every show i watched mad me feel like they were sponsored by Sony. It made me so mad when the one guy said " I really feel that sony dominated because of the PSP". BS. This year i would have to say Sony came in Last even though they got GTA (woopity doo) and thier psp will suck.

no, they will make worse games... trust me, they'll be forced to deal with developers who push them to get the game out sooner, they'll be under pressure to get it out as soons as possible, and not be allowed to give the games the polish that they and nintendo are known for
