I love this show. One of the only animes I really like, now that I think of it. I'm going to see if I can get the DVD set, with dubs or whatever it's called.
(I was just going to post about this too)

I love it, but I barley understand it. Just the craziness I love.

Wait wait... you're supposed to UNDERSTAND it?
Heh, well... at best it's something of a fable. Otherwise enjoy it for the insanity.

FlCl was awesome, every episode was confusing as hell but fun to watch. :)
Yeah, I really like Furi Kuri. Some of the scenes are...questionable, if you know what I mean, but it's still great.

That show is awesome. It makes absolutely no sense, but the action is amazing and the animation is top notch. I'm buying the English dubbed version as soon as nextdayanime.com gets it (that site is incredible by the way).

That show is SOO GOOD! I didn't want to like it at first, but it is so goofy and funny, I can't help but love it. I've only seen about three episodes though, makes me sad cuz they stopped showing it on adult swim. I wish they'd bring it back.

It is an awesome series!
I like it when they just let the animators go crazy, without any editors reigning them in. Who cares if it doesn't make sense, they had fun!

Oh yes...FLCL.....an great short but fine series....
I love it's craziness and at end you understand everything....
Really have some things you still think why happened......but it's good overall...
Though to buy each DVD for 2 eps each is sure a ripoff...it's only 6 eps long...

Dude, this show is the best. Well, this and Invader Zim are my two comedy animation favorites.

nextdayanime.com has the entire Japanese version for $11.49. It's subtitled, but like I said, I'm waiting for the English dub. I hope it has the original Japanese voice acting, too. Not that I understand a word of Japanese, but bonus features are always cool and Japanese voice acting is very well done.

The official dub was done very nicely, after comparing it with the sub. The voices are almost the same, and some of the script was left in Japanese ("Kakeen~~~~~!"). Gainax basically did the series to relieve stress, which is why it was so short.

The US-released DVDs are already out, and they run for about $20-30 apiece (3 total). There is a limited edition box (with Vol. 3) that goes for about $60 or $70 on eBay (I got one for cheap when it was still in stores... very nice). That $11.49 DVD with all the subbed eps on it sucks -- don't buy it. It's pirated garbage.
And I guess this isn't the kind of community I'm used to, but in case you didn't know (as it seems you don't) everything in FLCL makes sense. It's not some Excel Saga-esque comedy based on random stupidity; indeed, it's hardly a comedy at all. You guys are appreciating it for all the wrong (and the American!) reasons. I really wish they'd never shown it on Cartoon Network (thus mainstreamizing it with this "craaaazy comedy!!" label)... It's the greatest anime I've seen, and you're missing a lot if you're just sitting back, pointing at the screen and going, "Huhhuh! She hit him with the guitar! HuhhuhhuhH!"
On second thought, nevermind. I always go into a tangent like this... every anime board I go to... heh. Still... ya know... I just have this thing against the "mainstreamization" or just about anything. Anime... games... an underground band... things that should have remained the domain of the small dedicated followers spring into the mainstream where they lose a lot of the personal meaning they once held. With games and bands, once mainstreamized they tend to try to appeal to the mainstream's needs and desires. Fortunately, already-released anime and games and music are immune to this...
... and I'm going off again. Sorry, please ignore me.

I agree with you whole-heartedly about "mainstreamizing" anime and such. However, I believe that everybody has picked up on some part of the underlying meaning. It's just that FLCL leaves some things to the imagination. Having watched it again since my first post, I can honestly say that I understand it now (at least to an extent). The more you watch it, the more you pick up on little details. I understand that Haruko uses her guitar to open inter-dimensional portals in Naota's head in an attempt to locate Atomsk and that Naota's head is the only one suited for opening these portals, for example. I realize that there is much more to this anime than the fact that it is a quirky, often humorous action cartoon. I think it can be appreciated for the story, the action, and the comedy and not just one of the three. You must admit that the way they poke fun at various animation styles and at times talk about things as if they were aware they were in an anime is pretty funny, so I disagree that it's "hardly a comedy at all." There isn't really a wrong way to appreciate it. Focus on what you like about it and enjoy it for what it is. While I'm at it, I might as well tell you that we know the English dubs are out already. I'm waiting for nextdayanime.com to get it at their usual rock bottom prices. I have a gaming addiction to support too, after all. Sorry, that was hard to ignore (not to mention, I'm bored).

I LOVED the show when it first came on Adult Swim but now i don't see it on anymore. Does it still come on Adult Swim or what? Info would be helpful.

Yeah, it still comes on I think. But really late at night. Like at around 2:00AM. It's hard to understand what the story is about, but it's good. If you get the DVDs, you can understand what the word "Fooly Cooly" means.
I saw this in a gaming store on DVD. The cover looks interesting probably gonna rent it.
