I'm starting to use a lot of graphic design in my projects for college. At College there is PhotoDrawV2 which I've been using a lot, FireWorks and Paint. I haven't used the last two much. I've yet to find a way though where I can take an image, and crop the background. I'm going to start to make graphics in the same way as you would making a sig, where you take an image, remove it's background and then place it in some sort of shape that has a cool background. Is there anyway that I can remove background easily, and if so how do you do it? I'd prefer this to be in PhotoDraw because it's the only good program I can use. An example of what I mean would be in my sig. The picture of Kane had a red background. I managed to remove it but I don't know how I did it. This allowed me to move it anywhere I wanted knowing that I could put it over any type of background. Could someone help me?

I'm not sure about PhotoDraw, but Photoshop has the Magnetic Lasso, Magic Wand and various other tools for seperating bitmap images. The latest version of Fireworks, MX 2003/4 has the magic wand too. It basically selects pixels that have a similar colour to the wand you've clicked (you can set its tolerance). But, you haveto practice ith it a fair bit. :D

OK, I'm not sure how new their version of Fireworks is. I think it was the version before the new one though because they've had it a while. I'll have to have a look about. Thanks Rensa
