Yep, totally disagree, but good for you man really, if it makes you happy isn't that what really matters?

No ones opinion should devalue anyone's love in games, cause in the end we all have our different interests. Even though only a half of dozen games are worth my money on that list to purchase while 3/4 I will never play, it still shouldn't change the fact that I enjoy some games on the console.

I'd rather not ruin anyone's excitement really, so enjoy. Plus I'm sure most of us were expecting this thread soon anyways.

To the latter; It already kicks the HD consoles asses (in sales). But it doesn't have anyhting that excites me as much as the upcoming ps3 / 360 games.

Well, I think ANY gamer should be able to respect that lineup even if it's not to their tastes. It is pretty impressive, megaton or not. They showed a LOT of stuff, and this little conference was far from the non-event it seemed. Punch-Out!! Sin & Punishment 2!! Trace Memory 2!! New DS!! Storage Solution?!?!?!

I couldn't be more satisfied.

Nintendo's already sold me on 30+ games for next year if in fact many of them make is stateside, Sony has shown me no more than 5 and Microsoft has shown me 3 max. Both companies have a lot of work to do to not only gain ground on Nintendo but also to keep their current audience intact.

And BTW, this thread was created to show what games to expect from Wii in 2009. As time goes on and Nintendo gives us more information on new games, you'll likely see threads like this pop up now and again rather than bring back old ones which is against the rules.

That list I think is impressive for sure, and I think around 1/2 of them I'd consider something to buy which really thrills me as I'd love to be able to buy a Wii game every say 3 weeks instead of every month or two (that I end up ultimately keeping.)

Punch-Out I saw the 4 pics of, but my access at work sucks...is this a remake or new? I saw King Hippo, Baron Kaiser, and Glass Joe (twice) in those. If this is the original and they didn't add in those horribly lame moves and 1 round deathmatch crap the SNES game had in it, and the boxing controls work unlike the other 2 on the system so far count me in.

Not a bad start. There are some cool games missing, and some of that stuff is for 2008. Microsoft and Sony both have strong holiday lineups this year, exclusive and third-party, so they're not talking about anything for next year until the milk as many sales as they can out of 2008 releases. Nintendo on the other hand didnt really have to many games to worry about overshadowing with new announcements, so more of their 2009 lineup has been revealed.

ummmm1st point made no sense since i said 360 not PS3.....
and talking about what you said there, no they arent, they used to be nintendo's but then they went 3rd and they are the company that is apparently developing kid icarus for the wii....

and the second point, i have yet to find any announcement on it being ported to the 360 considering how there isnt a single game similar to it on the 360....

Well to be fair, the thread Reagan and I put together specifically contained 09' games. We could have put in Animal Crossing, Mushroom Men, Deadly Creatues, Rygar, and Tales of Symphonia 2 but we didn't and won't. Therefore I'm only acknowledging the PS3/360 09' games because that is what I asked of Virion.

Heavy Rain... TBA 2009.
White Knight Story... TBA 2009.
Final fantasy XIII... TBA 2009.
Star ocean – The Last Hope... Q2 2009.
Mass Effect 2... TBA 2009.

Between both systems, these are the only games that I honestly care about in the slightest for 09' barring Yakuza 3 and Yakuza Kenzan which are not present here. I realize that both MS and Sony have more to reveal but 5 from both of them versus 30+ that I plan on buying for the Wii doesn't bode well for the money I spent on two HD systems.

As I said before, 08' was the year of the 360 and to a lesser extent the PS3, but in terms of exclusives, overall line-up and value 09' is the Wii's year.

Again, this is all subjective but I'm telling the story from my perspective. If the unconfirmed games on this list do end up making it to the US, that's a minimum of 32 games that I genuinely want as opposed to the 5 that I mentioned on the other page. Why would I lie? I'm enjoying the hell out of my PS3 currently and everyone knows that Mass Effect, Lost Odyssey and Gears of War (all 360) are some of my favorite games of all time. But IMO the combined line-ups from Sony and MS can't hold a candle to the list of 09' Wii games.

I didn't say "stoked" I said I'm "interested". Not only will it be the first game to show off the "Wii Motion Plus" feature and 1:1 motion, I also like a little diversity in my line-up. I like the serious hardcore stuff and at times I also like the lighthearted stuff.

I'll just go on record and say that the 360 lineup so far appeals to me more than the Wii's does.I'm not even going to touch the PS3, as I don't have one and I'll just stick with what I play on a regular basis. I'm sure the Wii games will be fun, if not great, but they don't appeal to me.

It'd be more of a stretch, IMO. Besides, most of "Sony's franchises" really don't belong to Sony. They really can't do a whole lot about what other companies decide to do. Nintendo is a different story altogether.

But srsly, anyone who thinks PS3 exclusives are anywhere close is lying to themselves. They're solid, but 360's library is just spectacular. It took them a while, but I think MS has finally hit their stride.

As for Wii, it will keep being fun when people are over, and mildly boring when I'm alone. I dunno if I have seen anything in the lineup that could shake that up too much.

Well, as resident Sony fanboy (apparently :D ), I would like to say first of all that the only games that really matter are multiplatform anyways. However, the few exclusives the PS3 has (that are worth their salt) are as follows:

Motorstorm (its crap but some people like it)

TBH, the 360 has far more exclusives hands down, but as I said, the most important games are multiplatform anyway. Also, another thing you need to consider is the other things you can do with the machines. PS3 also has DVD/BluRay playback, as well as DivX playback. It also streams from your PC better than the 360 does, and the online play is totally free. However, the PSN service isn't a patch on XBL, and headsets cost extra, although any bluetooth headset will do.

Truth be told, there's not a great deal of difference in the games released, save for the few exclusives across each platform. What will sell a machine to you more, especially in this generation, is what else the machines can do.

I have both, and both are good, but personally, for the extra options it has, PS3 wins. But you might be different....

Buzz! & Singstar needs to be on the ps3 exclusive lists. They are much improved (compared to ps2 versions) and perfect partygames for the ps3. Last weekend, I actually played Buzz! with my parents. The last game they even tried was WiiSports.

I also had a great time with Folklore and The Eye of Judgement. They scored nicely, but none of them were sales hits, as far as I know.
