View Full Version : Political Compass Test.

Pretty easy stuff. Go here (http://www.politicalcompass.org/), take the test, post your score and link to your graph. I'll edit mine in as soon as I finish it.

P.S. Virtually everybody who takes this ends up close to Gandhi so don't be postin' "I'm with Gandhi, all right!"

EDIT: Oh, wrong forum (still used to not having the War Room.) Any mods wanna be a pal and move it? Thanks.

IMMA WIF GHANDI!:P (http://www.politicalcompass.org/test)

Looks like I'm fairly moderate. Pretty much what I figured.

BTW, what time does this make that this test has been posted? Tenth? Eleventh?

Its been posted about three times since I've been here. I figured, given the "you're not a moderate" discussion in Ken's blog, it was worth posting.

Hmm, seems like a lot more. I'm pretty sure Sera's posted it like five times. And I must have missed that part. *wanders off*

I'm about as middle as they come-

Economic Left/Right: 1.38
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: 0.26

I demand photographic proof of this. I want to see who's actually closer to the middle.

Arrrgh, do I have to do this again? Last time I got socially libertarian (about -5 to -6) and economically moderate (perhaps half a point to the left). I would probably be a point or two more right-wing now because I have a mini Liz in my head yelling, "Free markets rock!" every time I click on CNN, but that's about it :P

Besides, every time I do this it gets harder to avoid the wha-cha-ma-callit effect: the questions are framed pretty transparently and it gets harder and harder to be honest with myself. I'm not sure how reflective the test results are anymore.

It's interesting how this test defines left/right/libertarian/authoritarian compared to the Washington Post's Facebook test: this one defines the qualities based on extremes of one factor (either social or economic attitude), where as the Post's defines them based on extremes of two (both social and economic). Which goes to show how confusing political labels can be.

I'm pretty sure Sera's posted it like five times.I have no idea what you're talking about. If you're saying I posted a Political Compass thread, five times no less, can you perhaps link me to even one instance that I did this? I searched and there appears to be two previous similar topics, neither of which I started or even participated in.

Economic Left/Right: -6.50
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -5.44

I figured I'd be a little less liberal these days, but apparently not. However, like Rensa, I don't put a lot of stock in these tests.

Also, post graphs dammit, I can't be bothered figuring it out with just the numbers. I need pretty colors and dots.

I took this test a few years ago when my American Government professor suggested we all take it, I don't think I'm any more or less liberal than I was, but I'm a little less Libertarian than back then. Then again, I think they've changed some of the questions, so...

http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b136/trippingtoads/pcgraphpngphp.png

I also think people come up more liberal on these little quizzes than they actually are. I mean, you'd be pretty hard pressed in this day in age to find someone who isn't going to strongly disagree with the idea that people of different races should stick to themselves... Then again, the same upper-middle class white guy that answers as such may never have met a black person...

Haha, I think it's because I didn't use the "STRONGLY" answers a lot.

Edit: And I seem to take this every year. I think I've been in each quadrant at some time or another, so whatever.

i don't get the results to this test. i agreed that people from different races should stick to themselves. also no one needs rehabilitation. they need judgement then punishment.

for some reason i still came up in the middle.

I wondered if this type of post would appear due to the comment in a loosely related thread so I just had to do this.

This should amuse you because I think it damn well backs up my argument on being left socially and right when it comes to the dollar/military.

Tanooki, you're on the left economically; that means you run looser with the dollar. Authoritarian/Libertarian deals with social issues, so you're slightly socially libertarian.
