First of all, Matt Casamassina (IGN Cube) said this in the E3 Hype thread:

Pikmin 2, which rocks. Metroid Prime 2, which will own. The awesome Resident Evil 4. The amazing Paper Mario 2. Zelda, which shall dominate. Not to mention about half a dozen other major works from third-parties like Namco and Electronic Arts. And don't get me started on DS and all of the games; that just makes me happy.

But most of all the surprise, which will rocketh hard and please every Nintendo fan out there.

Now, of course, you must speculate. Let this thread flame on like none other, let the replies continue until the posts no longer make any sense. I have faith in you all.

Greg_NOA said something about how Nintendo had finally begun to listen to people, and would have a big event this year, besides the DS. He said it would change their image.

Thank you, again, again. You've been heard. I think one of the dangers of a thread like this, is many people think they were "finally" being heard. That's a perception problem on our part that we'll need to work on, as you've always been heard. I've had 4-5 similar threads over the past year, but this one got the greatest response. (Another one was getting a great response, too, but degraded into a flame war and I had to lock it.)

To the rare request for turn-based games, to the overwhelming "we want online gaming" opinions, this thread has re-inforced what we've been hearing for quite awhile. And, we're taking steps to move in the right direction.

No, we'll never be able to please everyone with every decision. For example, to those who want us to go back to cartridges, it's not going to happen unless suddenly carts can be made as quickly and inexpesively as optical discs.

Let me give you a real-life example of feedback. Back in the days of the original Game Boy, we heard "we want a color Game Boy" soooo much, I use to joke that I should change my phone greeting to "Nintendo Consumer Service, this is Greg, we know you want a Game Boy with a Color screen, is there anything else I can help you with?" As technology caught up with what consumer's wanted, we were able to release a Game Boy with a color screen. Ditto for the Game Boy Advanced SP with a built-in light. We heard the consumer's for years asking for it--and as game players ourselves, we wanted it--but it took time before we could do it.

With that being said, there are some that would say we waited too long to put out a Game Boy with a color screen or built-in light. Some said we should have released both features many years sooner, even if it meant pricing it out of most consumer's reach. And, that's valid, as that deals with perception. Even though most gamers still don't play online, they want online gaming because they want the option to do it, and think it would be cool to do. I, agree. It's kinda like car makers making some high-end brand-imaging cars. While very few people own a Dodge Viper, and I doubt they make much money on it, it was a huge image boost when it was introduced, and continues to shape perception.

So, you've been heard, again. And, again, we thank you! We are a business, but at the core it's people who play our games that make or break us. We have some things we need to improve on. While people can debate whether or not we have an image problem, I can tell you that image is one thing we're going to be working on. A lot. We've got some killer products, but for some folks we've lost the "cool." We'll get it back. Or, at least the non-dorky 2004 version of "cool."

So that's exciting eh? But still not official or solid. But wait, there's something more interesting:

LOL. I think he means MK-DD and stuff being revealed before the E3 show itself and even before the press conference.

This is Megaton 2...but for some reason, it seems like this might actually play out with some decent news.

I wouldn't get my hopes up though...just wait and see. Only a week and a half or so to go. I don't really mind about having to wait now...my last assignments will be handed in on May 11th...so I'll be busy with them this week. Then I have a four and a half months summer break. What better way to start it than with all that E3 goodness?

Unfortunately Sammy just purchased a large amount of stock in SEGA, and are now the majoritive share holders of SEGA. I think Sammy is about to have SEGA do some wacky stuff, supposidly they are taking SEGA in "another direction".

There is a buzz about Sega and Sammy releasing a new console. It is no secret that the Atomiswave board that Guilty Gear uses (Sammy), will now be used by SNK for all their future releases. This gives the rumor a little bit more believability.

Still this seems kinda far fetched.

If it is true, I think they'll find they'll have a tough time getting this new console past security at the convention center in L.A. Security will undoubtably be extemely tight for E3, so I'm sure they wont let any bombs through.:D

That sucked too. Nintendo should always have at least one big surprise at E3. Some how I don't think this year will be any different.

As for this "Big Nintendo Announcement" I'm not holding my breath. Knowing Nintendo it'll either be a image make-over (look we're not kiddie anymore) or something gimmicky like connectivity or the E-Reader.

I still hope for the best mind you.... I just don't want to get my hopes up to much, only to have them hit the ground like a ton of bricks.

maybe the announcement has some thing to do with the patient that was issued to nintendo dealing with the x,y and z axes. it could possibly be some sort of a sword that can feel your movements and display them on the screen (wirelessly) or not

Mature doesn't necessarily mean GTA. Look at ED. In fact, I'd say that GTA is less mature than ED, because it is based on doing absolutely no thinking whatsoever. That's not necessarily a bad thing, I still enjoy playing GTAIII every once in a while.

And we the fanboys want Nintendo to have a mature image so they will be percieved better by the casual gamer which in turn means Nintendo does well.

That makes two of us. I honestly don't really see the impact of GTA on GC now. If it is the one coming out later this year, yeah then maybe - but just another port? Blah.

I'd like to see what's up with Blinx 2. But I think Halo 2 will obviously be their biggest draw...not that I'm personally very interested in the title, mind you.

Mmm, No..Microsoft stated they won't enter to the market, at least for now. And you know what? I believe them. They dont want to spand more money on the HH market too - they need time. They need time to make a "user base"(panel?) which will buy their future console and follow MS.

But I have no doubt, no doubt at all that they will enter to the HH market in 5-15 years - when the Handheld market will be much more effective and will effect from/on the home consoles. -- If they won't stop making video consoles, which is very unlikely, Microsoft is not one of the surnders


And BTW, Microsoft stated this E3 will be Rare's E3 - PD0 any one? Killer Icrus? well .. time will tale, but I bet they made Sabre Wulf Racing game for the XBOX which base on DonkyKong Racing which was planned to the Cube...

Ok there's a ton of specualtion in this thread so let me tell you what I know, or what I think I know.

Perfect Dark Zero wont see the light of day until X-Box 2.

Microsoft continues to loose money on the X-Box. They have lost over 3 Billion to date. Making a handheld system is the least of their worries. For those of you who think 3 billion is nothing to a company like Microsoft, think again.

Halo 2 will not be playable at the show, much to the disappointment of many fans. I'm hoping I'm wrong on this one, but from what I have seen so far, the floor plans for Microsoft's booth show the same crappy "Halo theater" as they had last year.

More Halo 2 video = LAME. I'm starting to believe those Halo 2 on X-Box 2 rumors.

However, Metroid Prime 2 WILL be playable. As will a literal ton of other great titles in the Nintendo booth.

The corrupt press will sit around and talk about Halo 2, Halfe Life 2 (also not playable) and the Psp, but the REAL star of the show will be Nintendo.

PD-0 I not sure about it. Some say it push for the XBOX2 to let Rare to spend their time on finish Kameo and Concker.
What for sure - Kameo development is almost finished if not already .. I believe they do the last touch to fix al they problems.

Another thing is, that PD-0 is under development, but I dont sure how progressive it is. I assume that they will show a video of it to get huge hipe. It may be pushed for the XBOX2 if it will release this Christmass- durning the first halfof 2005.

What Im 100% sure, Rare has secret title in development , while it may be an all new one, but cause of the failure of GBTG, it may be B-K3 or as I said before, SW RACING
