interesting.. just saw on the headlines that Midway will be releasing it's classic arcade collection on the CUBE.
http://www.gcadvanced.com/article.php?artid=1707
i can give two sh*ts about midway, but i'm concerned about the third party support and the departure of third parties reflects to other parties' departures on the cube.. so.. anyways.. perhaps midway will return? or since it's a low profile game, maybe midway will let it slide and release it on the cube? eh..

I can only hope, but so far other than the collection, Midway is showing GC no love whatsoever. They have nothing for GC at E3 as of now.

The reason Midway is showing no love to Nintendo is because Nintendo fans didn't show any love to Midway. Coincidentally, Midway games suck.
I think it's a shame that Midway is dumping the cube support just as they start to make better games. The Suffering and NBA Ballers received fairly good marks, and there's the upcoming MK6.
Back on topic, it's cool at least the collection is coming, these were games from my youth, the other classic collection games were a little before my time. Sounds awesome.

I LOVE the first arcade collection!! I played most of those games down at the arcade that used to be near my house when I was a little kid and love those games!
I was kind bummed when I heard the second collection wasn't gonna be released for the cube. This totally made my day hearing this news!
The second one has a lot of recent arcade games in there (from the last decade, the first collection was from the decade previous to that). I've played most of the the games in the second collection as well, and I can't wait for this to hit store shelves!
It's kinda funny, I don't even care if I get the newest Mortal Kombat on my system, all that matters to me right now is that I can get my hands on that second collection of flashbacks to the later years of my childhood.

I don't want Midway back, I want them to die. Die like 3DO
The third parties are leaving because Nintendo made mistakes.

Woa Outlaw, you sound like my boss at work. He hates almost everyone at work, so he waits until people make one little mistake, anything to give him a reason to fire them and he does, "Bye bye incompitent fools!":pwn: he says.
But then guys like me (that are few), guys that he likes, he keeps around. And because he fires so many people, us dudes he does like are over worked 'cause theres no one to fill in for us but the few of us that are there.:( the few of us are forced to work so much, and were always pissed off and tired (the paychecks are nice and all:yay: , but man, I want days off, I'm tired).
So we finally tell the boss, dude, we need help here, you need to hire people and keep them and not fire them and be nice to them and stuff, (and we're all mad at him when we say this  ) and he's all like, Ok... (and then he's all mad at us and then he takes it out on us 'n stuff.:pwn: )
The place would run alot smoother, for us employees:rolleyes: and the buisness as well if this boss of ours wouldn't always force good workers away like he does.
And the moral of this story is: Do unto others, then split.

Retro gaming is coming back in a big way. Besides myself, I know at least 4 other people who are buying up retro consoles from ebay like nobody's business! Nostalgia pulls in most of us, and sheer morbid curiosity about the roots of gaming pull the ones too young to remember when these great (except Pit Fighter) games were out in arcades.
We now have plenty of retro-releases and compilations to look forward to. There's the NES-Mini collection for GBA, loads of SNES remakes also on the GBA, MegaMan Aniversary collection is due out soon, and now these (I've added a load of screenshots, in-case anyone don't know what these great games were about).
Personally I think it's great to see all these classic re-surfacing.

Whos to say that Retro Gamers haven't forgotten their roots. Hell, there is a lack of support for nintendo, so I'm saying yea, they have forgotten their roots.
And Cotton, we'll just exclude you from that. You know what, whenever I look at your name I think of Slavery or O-ren ishii aka CottonMouth

Actually, MKDA sold a good 250,000 copies on the Cube, and Midway still didn't bother to release it's sequel.
hell, Godzilla: DAMM sold 350,000 copies, while the Xbox version sold 40,000. And for reasons no one can explain, Atari is only releasing the sequel to that game, for PS2 and Xbox only.
This doesn't sound to me like Nintendo making mistakes, it sounds like 3rd parties just can't do simple math anymore.

Midway was never a company I purchased games from and apparently neither did many of you otherwise they would of never dropped the Cube.

True....who cares about a company which will one day go bankrupt....they have no games ( ok to be honest MKD looks cool but MKDA was kinda crap in my opinion......).
All these companies not supporting the cube may be bad press for ninty, but at the end of the day we get less crap to choose from and thats what counts.
STOP WINGING .

Back from E3 2004 is Greg, who came back with some information that you may be interested in...While at the expo, Greg had the chance to speak with a Midway representative, who told him that due to high demand, Mortal Kombat: Deception is in the planning stages for the GameCube! Since Midway hasn't exactly supported the GameCube well, I assume that the plan could fall through at any time. But you heard it here, from Greg first. As of right now, Mortal Kombat: Deception is indeed being planned for the GameCube.

You know what i really never bought midway products. I was actually almost going to buy the shadow hearts game and realized that FFX came out the same day. It's irionic that i was actually looking forward to playing Psi-Ops:midgate conspiracy. It just looks intersting with new gameplay mechanics, then again it eerily sounds a lot like Geist.

Except, Psi-ops is here now, and not on the Cube, and Geist has (supposidly) been pushed back to early next year.
