Where do you currently work? Where do you hope to work one day?
I'm currently just a student, but one day I'm hoping to work at an animation company.
I'm most interested in Pixar.
Animation has always been one of my passions, so I'm serious about basing my career around it. (Walt Disney is my hero.)
I'm also into music and play 3 instruments, so I might incorporate that into my life later on as well.

I work at the Atlantis Casino Resort & Spa on a nightshift at their all-night restaurant as a server.
It's not bad. Tips are pretty good.
I'm going to the University of Nevada, Reno to study German and Japanese and hope to be an interpreter.

Until I visited the states I was working for Crown Casino (http://crowncasino.com.au/). While I'm here I don't need to work, but I might see if I can get the job back when I return, because it paid really well and had a lot of perks. We'll see.
In the future... not sure yet. I'd been planning on doing postgrad work after my BSc was done and eventually going into research, but I'm not sure I wanna do that now. Ideally I'd go into business for myself selling renewable energy. But that's gonna be hard since I have pretty much no formal training in business operation. But I don't plan to let that stop me :D

You should talk to Sean, dude; he's an animator looking to end up at Pixar.

I work at Johnson and Johnson's Ortho-Clinical Diagnostics as a co-op. It pays well and is flexible. I'll go to law school and most likely go into corporate law. Where, I'm not sure.

I've been working at GStop for about 3 years now while going to community college. Transferred out from a university last spring since it was expensive. Our community college is one of the top in the country too so I didn't mind. Changed my major more than my socks and my ambitions are all over the place. Taking it one day at a time and grabbing the opportunities when they rise. I guess I am just seeing where life leads me. With patience come the rewards.

Work at a high school as a library assistant. Basically get paid to yell at people, help teachers, yell some more, check **** out, tell student assistants to put **** back on the shelves, and do whatever insidious things my boss cooks up for me to do.
Going to college (was supposed to already be there, but ****ing totaled my car two days before I started) to hopefully get into written journalism (for entrance into coverage of sports or technology) or creative writing (for entrance into the gaming industry. Suck at math, so I might as well use what God gave me) , perhaps with a minor in teaching so the school district will refund me for my schooling and because teaching, while lame, is the ultimate back-up job.

Hows that looking?
Myself, right now its at FedEx Kinkos. I'm a Customer Service Specialist which basically means i get to make a lot of phone calls, do quotes, follow ups, etc. I need to find another or new job when I get back from Australia though cause I'm not making enough here to even pay bills each month :(. Wanna get outta retail after 8+ years too.

The game or the job? I can't say much about the game, for obvious reasons.
I'm working at EA only until the end of May, then I go back for my last semester of College, and finishing off my Diploma. THEN I can focus on my career.

Ahahahahaha, luff bounty.
Anyway, I work for Rio Garment, and we basically develop and produce apparel for many brands such as Aeropostale, Foot Locker, Disney, etc.
I'm in the product development department, which means that I get to work on consumption analysis, pattern and marker design and other interesting stuff, but I can't sew a T-shirt if my life depended on it (Well, maybe then, cuz it's not that hard).

I'm a dish washer at a restaurant called the North Park Deck House. There are other variations of the North Park restaurant franchise throughout the Pittsburgh area, but the one I work for is owned by two brothers who own two locations.
I wash dishes and other assorted food containing devices ranging in sizes from really tiny to so big they won't fit through the washing machine. At the end of the night I'm in charge of closing the kitchen, which basically involves scrubbing the floors, putting everything away, disassembling the machine, taking out the garbage, and finally locking the back door.
Overall, the work is hard, dirty, and flat out sucks. The upside is that I love the people I work with (mainly addicts and drop-outs, though they are hilarious) and I get at least one full meal for free every night, plus anything I can find to snack on in between (including all the soda I want).
As far as careers go, I'm currently a Web Design student at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh.

^ Yeah, I used to do dishpig work. The meals were good, but I didn't really get on with my coworkers and the work sucked balls. I remember getting oil in my eyes once after being asked to clean out an oven. Ugh. And your clothes end up smelling like ****; I had to separate the clothes I wore to work from everything else in a plastic bag to avoid contaminating the rest of my wardrobe.

I'm a senior paralegal at a large New York Real Estate, Credit Repair, Traffic Violation, and Marriage/Divorce attorney's office. The pay is phenominal, my boss is awesome and so are my co-workers, and the hours are majorly flexible. I can basically afford anything I want, have excellent benefits, and a kick-ass cool car. ^_^

I'm currently unemployed, at the moment. I'm thinking of applying at the local Best Buy, but I'll have to wait until I'm 18, which is in about three months. Should I get a fill-in job between now and then, or just wait it out? I'm not really sure how getting a job and then quitting it a couple months later will look on a resume.

OMGZ HAYT U! :P
Uh, yeah dude, wait it out. What you said it's precisely what someone who interviews you will think: "Uh, why did he only last three months in the previous job?"
You could always explain, sure, but why would you have to? :P

Heh, I did that - except it was three weeks. That job doesn't go on my resume any more :P

Lawn work, and home health care. It sucks, but it will do until I can advance to something better.
I work over the summer as a life guard at a local country club...its like 15 minutes on the stand every hour, the other 45 minutes are playing ping pong, cleaning, doing the snack bar...
I hope to go into medicine (and hopefully by that time they'll have spell checking pens, because i can barely spell medicine, let alone acetylsalicylic acid), and be a doctor, hopefully either in Boston or my hometown

Alright, guys, will do. I do odd jobs every now and again, so I can guess I can wait it out. And though it is indeed paltry, I do get an allowance, so it's not like I'm completely broke all of the time. Just most of the time.:P

A better question is "who cares?"
Seriously man, you're 17 years old. Your resume of minimum wage jobs isn't going to mean **** to anyone. If you need money now, go for it. Get a job at a fast food restaurant (or whatever) and go at it for a few months. Also, applying at Best Buy guarantees you nothing. Don't plan things months ahead of time around getting hired there.
Also, if you're rather adventurous, you could give slangin a try ;)

Best Buy/Future Shop: Not recommended.
I've only had bad experiences with them. Once you're in a certain department (Merchandising, for example, was my first department), don't ever expect to be able to move to a different department. My knowledge/skills made me perfect for Entertainment, but (un)fortunately, I was damned good at merchandising.

I never had a job during high school, but my university program has me working at various places every other term.
For my first term, I worked at a place called Paragon Systems (http://www.paragonsystems.ca/). A small time R&D business that created fixtures that would perform various durabillity and stress tests on various automotive and aerospace parts. Think testing out how durable a door lock it by repreatedly slamming the door. My job, specifically, was to build the fixtures. Very fun, hands on job, but the boss was a total douche.
For my second work term I worked for IKO Industries (http://www.iko.com/). This time the job and people were great. I had to do a catalouging project of sorts, where I had to go into a plant and make note of all of the machines, pumps, augers, etc., draw them up and modify a list which had all of the parts thought to be in the plant. That was cool because eventually I was able to figure out what part was what (the list was in order of how the material was produced) just by studying the machine and how it operated. Made me feel kinda smart :)

I'm working at the Children's Hospital in the ED right now. I'm what is called a team coordinator. Basically I just make phone calls for the ED docs to the specialists, and break down charts when a patient is discharged. Its pretty easy but can be hectic at times.
Of course, the deaths are extremely sad...
I'm a full-time student at University of Cincinnati, completing a degree in Linguistics with a minor in Asian Studies and a Professional Writing certificate.
I'm planning on being a Japanese interpretor/translator, with hopefully, more specifically, translating technical writing pieces from Japanese into English and vice versa. Technical Writers (Instruction Manuals, Technology Reports, etc.) start out over 100k a year, I guess because no one wants to do it. Of course that stuff's boring but if I'm translating Japanese I know I'll enjoy it.
The goal, though, isn't to make a ton of money. Rather, the ideal situation would be to contract myself out for 6 months of the year, and spend the other 6 months off, hanging out with my wife and (future, currently non-existent) kids.
I'll let you know how it works out. haha.
