I ****ing love Reggie.

http://www.infendo.com/2007/03/gdc-fils-aime-owns-harrison.html

Waiting for the Miyamoto keynote to start, I’m sitting three rows from the front. Close enough to see Nintendo’s resident BMOC, Reggie Fils-Aime at the front of the crowd, working it with his trademark smile and good will. He poses for pictures, he signs Wiimotes, he presses the flesh with a good natured ease that would make even the most seasoned politician weep with envy.

“Kick his ass and take his name!” someone shouted from a few rows behind me.

“Who?” answered Reggie in mid-autograph.

“Phil Harrison, front row!” Sure enough, there was Phil Harrison, seated dead center, front row. Looks like he could show up on time for Nintendo’s keynote, but not Sony’s.

With a grin and a chuckle, Reggie replies, “Some would say we’ve already done that.”

Touchdown. The crowd goes wild.

Truth hurts. But it's damn funny.

I thought it was fake, until one of my fellow journalists told me it was real.

It's not as cool as anything Perrin does, but it's getting there.

The funniest thing I've read on the AMN boards.

Yeah it is unprofessional. Funny, but anyone that now bitches about Sony being belittling to its competition is hypocrit. But Reggie's always been a trash talker thats why we love him. Remember when he first showed up at E3 2004. Man he was a trash talker.

Sony deserves it for all their ****.

And I sum it up with "all their ****" because there really is too much "****" to put into one specific category.

That would be the second time at GDC that Reggie took at a shot at Sony. During he EA Wii event, the power went out during the demostration of the secret EA game and Reggie said 'The Sony people must have figured out where we are!'

In any case, Sony is walking away from GDC with the most buzz, so regardless of what Reggie or anyone at Microsoft says, I think they win in that regard. Furthermore, from what Ive been told by the guys at 1up and IGN, Reggie's reaction to the unveiling at HOME was pretty funny - he was motionless and silent with a scowl on his face during the entire presentation, and even afterwards. A stare that could pierce diamonds that man has...

You'd think more people would take this into account when talking about Home and LittleBigPlanet.

I mean, just about everything on XBL:A can be had on another platform. LBP won't ever be on anything else. It's a clever concept, and looks like a lot of fun. Why should we be forced to get the PS3 for it? Sigh...

You will never get me to like Home. Ever.

WTF? Do we really need to elaborate on the purposes of an exclsive game? Every major player has exclusive titles that you need to buy their console for.

Why is Sony evil for having an exclusive game that the world seems interested in? Werent they considered stupid just a few months ago for FAILING to provide just that as motivation to make a $600 purchase?

Seems Reggie's been pwning more than just competitors PR peeps...

Well, it’s official: at an intimate cocktail reception held by Nintendo last night, Casamassina had his ass kicked and name taken by Nintendo ass-kicker Reggie Fils-Aime on the virtual courts of Wii Tennis.

The ass-kicking in progress:

And the final transaction:

To be fair, I went up against Reggie prior to Matt’s challenge without the photo documentation. With a Wii Remote in one hand and a glass of Chardonnay in the other, Reggie took me down three games to zip. The man’s good at Wii Tennis -- he clearly knows the product he’s pimping, taking down every single one of the dozen or so comers. Though we can unofficially blame the flowing booze for our inability to hold our own against the Nintendo personality, in reality Reggie clearly isn’t all talk. He really does kick ass and take names and made more than a dozen professional gamers feel inadequate holding that Wii Remote.

A rematch is in order. Reggie, you and me. Santa Monica. E3 2007. Let’s do it.

LBG is not something that groundbreaking to make someone buy a $600 console. Some of you might think so, but I can guarantee most Sony fans would smile and nod, but go back to playing God of War 2 on their PS2.

I believe that game would do so much better on the Wii, gameplay wise and sales wise. It just looks like something that would work really well on it. However, it's being published by SOE, and will never go anywhere else besides a Sony console. It's not like GTA being exclusive to PS2 or SSB:Melee exclusive to GC or Halo exclusive to Xbox. Those titles are on a console with the best userbase to sell them. LBG is a game that unjustifiably will only see proliferation on the nextgen console it could sell the least on. This is why it sucks.

And I still don't see a game worth buying a PS3 for. GoW3 might be that game for someone like me, MGS4 for others and an FF title for the FF fans. But LBG is not one of them. Home, despite it's merits, is still a hollow shell which requires games to fill it. Motocross is a damn fun racing sim, but it's only one. GT4 would be the better of, and worth a console purchase.

So, see where I'm getting here? LBG is actually asthetically very similar to Monkey Ball, and that has seen a multi-platform release to all three past gen systems. Sold better on the GC, and that's just facts. LBG should be a multi-platform game. It's because SOE are desperate for something to attract people to the PS3, it will never be mutli-platform. Problem is, it's the wrong kind of people they want.

Bah, enough randing, this is supposed to be about Reggie. Seeing Casamassina get pwned made my night :D!
