The Simpsons...Best Cartoon Ever?

The Simpsons has to be the best Cartoon ever... what other cartoon does everybody know and love to watch even after 10 years of laughs? I can't think of any... sure Spider-Man was great and yeah I loved Batman too...but Spider-Man has been discontinued and Batman...well...he's stuck their with the Justice League...The Simpsons lives on with new shows being produced and continous laughs being deliverd...fellow board members...The Simpsons is the best cartoon ever...

I think the Simpsons is amazing. I especially like Treehouse of Horror episodes such as "The Shinning" and "Homer3". I think it's good because you can relate to certain characters

i love all the halloween specials.... i find the one where apu's mom comes to america hilarious as well as the one where mr. burns has a girlfriend...

yah the simpsons are great....once i attempted to download every episode of the simpsons.....how ignorant and foolish i was to even attempt it.

I made it to season 3 then the dvd's started coming out, so that ended that.

Dont' get me wrong, I'm a HUGE simpsons fan.. and I look forward to the Halloween episode ever damn year, but Family Guy and Futurama both shows are much funnier IMO than the Simpsons.

Too bad they were both neglected in favor of the Simpsons, but they are much funnier cartoons.

Oh well you can still enjoy them on DVD (and adult swim), and you can still enjoy the simpsons on fox.

Simpsons is pretty amazing because of how long they've made it while still staying funny. Many shows would lose their humor after the third season, but the simpsons keeps going and going... You gotta respect that, although I think Family Guy is alot better. (Family Guy will probably get cancelled around Season 4, cause they'll just run out of ideas)

I always thought that the Simpsons would run out of ideas, but then if you think about it, it's kinda like a soap opera where the writers can make storylines about any of the characters. And Soaps go on for decades!

Simpson's is a far cry from what it used to be.
don't get me wrong I'm a fan of the show but I think we can all see it's been in a slump for the last few years (with a great show here and there)

just this morning on the radio I heard that The Simpsons was the second longest running series still out their today... they were talking about The Simpsons having Tony Blair on it ands how he was glad to be asked to be on the show since him and his son watch The Simpsons...

Well, it's better to end something in it's prime before it gets old/uninteresting/runs out of good ideas, because then people see it end as a good show, instead of an old, washed up one.

I kinda compare it to Patrick Roy and Wayne Gretzkey. Gretzkey was the best NHL player of all time, yet he stretched his career a little too far, giving him a little less appeal in the end. However, Roy ended his career before he could start to decline, so he left the NHL as a great goalie.

Even though the show is not as great as it once was, I think the simpsons longevity will last any other cartoon either in syndication or that is being produced today. The simpsons were the progenitors of cartoon social satire and in 50 years I would like to see it still around.

I don't know. The thing is, we could hope that the creators carry on and don't run out of ideas. However, at the end of the day, the creators might get bored of doing the Simpsons, and concentrate on Futurama or maybe another series that they make

Simpsons should of ended 6 years ago. It is insane it has been going this long. If it goes any longer FOX may just let it run despite good or bad ratings, just like they run news everyday.

The Simpsons is obscenely funny (I'm watching the 'Mr. X episode right now), and Mr. Burns is the best character (Smithers: <gasp!> Sir, are you alright?

Unfortunately, the writers are running out of ideas, what with having made at least 325 episodes. I think my younger brother should write for them, 'cuz he's come up with great ideas.

I'm really not going to take the time to go through and read... any of the previous posts, I'll just say this. Simpsons USED to be the best cartoon ever, but this previous season is just nowhere near up to par. The series is just tired now. Futurama is kicking this last season's ass. So is Family Guy. It's a shame really.

i love the new season and think it's still hilarious. people are more used to seeing all out wacky humor nowadays, though, so when you turn to the simpsons and it's actually tied down with something (like it always has been) and doesn't have all the jumps in logic and complete lunacy of family guy or anything on adult swim in a non-stop barrage of scenes, people feel let down. there's nothing different this season, except that people are watching a larger variety of shows. this will always be my favorite cartoon, with futurama and home movies being in a close race for second...

The Simpson sucks and it's going to go on for at least 16 years because oddly the ratings are still good. I hate the show now all they do is dumb reused story lines and jokes, with the weekly gay joke. Wow what a great show now. *rolls eyes*

The cancelled Futurama which could have stayed on 50 years, I mean you can't really run out of ideas with that show, but Fox is dumb so oh well.

well, not to disagree completely or anything, but the simpsons is still the best cartoon in the world. futurama may have been able to outlast it, but that doesn't mean it would have. i'm sure they would've run out of space stories at some point.

Yeah, i agree with Boondock Saint... and not just because he also like Bruce Cambell... they need to put out these DVDs fast...not to turn this to a star wars descution but at least those DVDs will be out most likely before the next Simpsons season... for those who dont know already they come out on Sept 21 in a 4 disc set...but me need more simpsons... though i do have about 14 tapes of simpsons recorded though but id reather have them on DVd and not tape (no im not sellign any of them they are for private home use only nothng illigal)
