Help: New Super Mario Bros-- SAVING?

Okay, when the game starts out, you can only save when you beat a castle or unlock a road using starcoins or something.

Currently, I've discovered that now I got the ability to save anytime I want by pressing start at the map and choose the SAVE option.

My bf wants to know how I did this, and I got no idea....I tried searchingthe net a little but could't find an answer, so ANYBODY HERE WHO KNOWS....mind letting me know how to do it?

Save Anywhere

To save your game anywhere on the map screen, beat the final castle in World 8. When you restart, you will have a star next to your save and you'll get the "Save" option added to your menu in the map screen.

I'm sorry, I couldn't resist. I saw the posts and tried to avoid saying that Keto had said nothing of the sort (not to mention that nobody should care), but alas, I can't pass up poking fun at people's assumptions ^^;
