I was just watching the TV guide channel to see whats on and they were talking about Fox and the Family Guy series. They were talking about how Fox was thinking about bringing the show back (I thought it was already official but they said that they were ONLY thinking about it. Does anyone know anything about this?) and at the end they mentioned that was gonna be a movie! They also mentioned that it should be out by the end of this year!! There were no details on what it was going to be about or anything though. Anyways, I for one love this show and am eagerly awaiting the movie, what do you all think and what are your expectations? --~

*cough* old news *cough* :D

The reason why there are doing this is because they were going to make a DVD movie without Fox. Fox then wanted the show back and the creaters don't trust Fox, so if they start making shows and Fox says no down the road they don't want to be out of money, so instead they are going to make 4ish episodes that continue a show. I can't wait to see what, the show is so great and the Y2K episode was awsome, so maybe they can do something on the 2004 election.

Hmmm, well I don't know then. The people said that the movie was expected by the end of the year and their ALWAYS up to date. So maybe Fox decided they'd bring back the show and make a new movie?

Hmmm.....

While the feature length FAMILY GUY will be developed at Fox, it will be at a different division and not through the company's television arm. And as for when we might be able to see new FAMILY GUY goodness:

"Timeframe, you're probably looking at a year, a year-and-a-half down the line. It will take a while to make. If we could do it within a year it would be very exciting."

This is some great stuff....

Q5: True or false: the FAMILY GUY’s youngest member, Stewie, is running for governor of California?
McFARLANE: The home video publicity department is really creative. They came up with this idea for Stewie to run for governor, so anyway I did this little piece of animation, a self-promotional commercial for Stewie that I think is running here and there.

Q: Is he actually on the ballot?
McFARLANE: I don’t know, I don’t even think that’s legal. I think you have to be at least a three-dimensional person to get on the ballot, which doesn’t explain how Arnold Schwarzenegger got on.

Q: Can you mention any of the possible storylines? (for the movie)

McFARLANE: We’re kicking around…there was an episode we had written that didn’t air because we got cancelled that we’re talking about expanding. It has to do with Stewie realizing that he’s a homosexual…
Q: Well, there were clues throughout the series.
McFARLANE: Seems like a logical movie story.

Are they saying that all world domination wanting babies are gay?!?! :D

I dunno. Maybe that is what that means. I love Stewie's plans for world domination.

Well from what I have heard it will be a direct to DVD release. But there are rumors of Futurama and Familly Guy movies will happen because it cost a lot of money to make an episode but that would be a tiny ammount for a movie.

Thats ok if its only a DVD, I probably wouldn't see it in theatres anyway.....

This is what the original deal was according to Fox and I can't find the freakin link anymore so I am sorry.

Fox after seeing the MILLIONS made on the Family Guy DVD box set and the syndication ratings on Cartoon Network (it is Cartoon Network right? I for some reason get that confused with Comedy Central a lot) made Fox persue bringing Family Guy back on the air.

35 new shows have been ordered set to release January '05 AT THE EARLIEST. and a movie has been and will be released that will connect the half season 3 to the NEW full season 4.

I love Family Guy and would, of course, love to see a movie. But I think they should make a movie for The Simpsons. C'mon Matt Groening! You can do it!

David85
02-01-2004, 12:23 AM
They were going to after the 7th season. They said they would have after the show ended, but that was like 7-8 years ago now, so the Simpson movies have been canceled.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

David85

Thats what I said 5-6 years ago when they said the show would continue.

No, there are still making a Simpsons movie. Matt Groening said he planned on truly ending the Simpons in like...2005 or something. Then when it ended, he would make a movie. Which in convenient, cuz if Simpsons end in 2005, that is also when Family Guy starts again. Perhaps it will take its place?

David85
02-01-2004, 06:36 PM
Well Frankly I wouldn't believe anything Matt Groening says, not because he's a bad guy, but because he wanted to end the show many years ago, but Fox won't let him.

lemme get this straight...you HONESTLY think that family guy could be made into a movie? and that it would be good? that's like a simpson's movie, or a king of the hill movie...or a mariko movie...eeeeewwww*shudders*

David85
02-03-2004, 09:13 PM
Don't you compare the god that is Family Guy to that trash called Simpsons and King of the Hill.

Lovebird
02-03-2004, 09:20 PM
i'm not comparing them as shows, necassarily...i'm just sayin, like those shows, a movie would blow the hard one...i mean, family guy is the kind of humor that can only be used in television, if you catch my drift, which tyou either do or don't

And don't compare it to a Mario movie, either, Patrick, to add on to what David said in that quote.

They are going to make this movie funny. I know Family Guy, and there's going to be a lot of cameos (I'm expecting one of those flashback scenes, where Meg competes on American Idol, and Simon badmouths her, and she attacks him... it's a FOX thing, so it'll happen). They'll add the perfect amount of humor with a stupid plot, and it'll sell millions. And that's show biz for ya.

I think the movie would just be like 70 minutes long. The reason they want to do cartoon movies are because they cost too much to make for shows but in movies they would make lots.

I'm sure the movie will be great, why? Because it's gonna be just like the show, like an extended episode, catch my drift??? --~ Now storylines, hmm..... How about Peter going bankrupt so Louis and him try to go to Las Vegas and bet all that they have left, or maybe they go bankrupt and they get absurd new jobs (these were complete guesses......)

I like the episode where Brian goes looking for his mom and he's in a truck with all those hispanic immigrants and then he tells one "hola me llamo es Brian" and the guy goes "Hi, but actually you only have to say Me llamo Brian the es is not needed", Brian goes "Wow, speak English?", the guy goes "No, just the last sentence and this one..", Brian then asks "You're kidding, right?" and the guy answers "Que"....I wonder if anyone remembers that it was great!

Sounds hilarious but I don't believe I've seen it. Now people what do you think of my ideas I posted earlier!?

methinks
02-23-2004, 05:32 AM
yeah, but when are they gonna make another South Park movie? The first one ruled.

Nightmare

If you want to talk about South Park make a new thread, and Chri$$, your idea sounded great.

Shoxx
03-03-2004, 09:12 AM
I don't like South Park very much, so I don't care when they make another movie.

lol, last night's episode of Family Guy made me think that Chris was gay. I'd never seen it before ("To Live or Die in Dixie"), and when Sam kissed him, and he wrote about it in his little diary thing, I thought he was gay. Then when he revealed herself to be a girl, I started laughing. Very hard, too.
