what the hell are you doing on this forum? It's like going on a video game forum and asking "what the hell is Pong? Space Invaders?"

Astroboy (Tetsuwan Atomu as he is known in Japan) was created by Osamu Tezuka. And mark my words, he is among (I think *THE*) first 'anime' characters ever created. Infact when he was around, the word anime wasn't even invented.

Tezuka-san is now dead, but well remembered. There is an Osamu Tezuka museum near Osaka in Japan. Tezuka began the Japanese animation obsession with big eyes, having watched american Disney films (Mickey Mouse, DOnald Duck, etc) he decided to add huge eyes to his Atomu character... and thus keeping off many of the features we know today.

Astroboy is a little robot with human attributes (emotions), I guess he looks a little like MegaMan (which Capcom copied off him), he's really cute and he kicks ass. Definitely one of the coolest characters of all time :)

I suggest you research into some Astroboy and see what you think. New games, TV seies and rumoured movie are all in prodction, he's coming back!
