Bah, even the cheesy lameness of R.O.B. cannot compete with the sheer awesomeness of Yoshi. The squeeky green dinosuar is still first choice in my book.

R.O.B. is the Robotic Operating Buddy for the NES. He was released as part of a bundle and worked by looking at the television and reacting to light patterns. He worked with two games, Gyromite and Stack Up. He could use his hands and pick up the spinning tops or stack bricks. He essentially used these items to manipulate the buttons on controller 2, affecting in-game play. He was the unofficail mascot for the NES in the early days. Too bad he wasn't really all that fun to use, but he makes a greeat collector's peice. I have a working R.O.B. which is pretty rare. This is cool to see in Mario Kart!

yeah I've been reading around about ROB....and that screenshot of him in the game is NOT Fake..... then people started arguing whether he's a CHARACTER or a KART.... but so far, things seem to be settled at him being a choosable unlockable character.

Nope, it's true. I thought it was a toy, so I took it into the bath with me when I was a baby, and.... well, it was painful.

Dry Bones is the skeleton turtle first appearing in Super Mario Bros. 3. He has the distinction of falling apart when you jump on him but then coming back after a few seconde (like the red skeletons in Castlevania).
