hey guys, the trailer for kevin smith's new flick is out, and i thought i'd post it here to see what everyone thinks about it...

http://www.apple.com/trailers/miramax/jersey_girl/

personally, i think it looks quite good, and probably very funny, although in a different way than the dick and fart jokes of the jay and silent bob films. anyways, enjoy, as i'm sure we'll be discussing this one for at least a little bie...

I love Kevin Smith and his movies, but this movie looks plain stupid. What the hell was he thinking casting Bennifer in the same movie? The jokes look dumb and uninspired.

Hopefully this will influence Kevin Smith to bring back Jay and Silent Bob!

what? ben has been in most of his flicks, and jlo DIES in this movie. how can you call that bad?

i think it will be good. besides, kevin's best jokes are never in the trailers...well, mainly b/c they're so offensive. plus, he hates it when trailers reveal all the good stuff.

True, Ben has been in all his flicks. But never in one as stupid looking as this. No Jay & Silent Bob = no fun. The trailers for his past movies all looked SIGNIFICANTLY better than this one. Ben is just not someone you want to cast as a LEAD role anymore. Haven't you seen Paycheck? Argh.

now if only J.lo would really die.... oops... YOU DIDNT HEAR THAT.

anyways, i hope this doesnt suck. i loved clerks, mallrats, chasing amy, dogma, and JASBSB. hopefully this none JayBob movie wont blow, just so Smith can still keep his dignity.

Don't get me wrong, I have faith in Smith, I just thought the preview looked really dumb. Here's hoping to the movie turning out all right!

Seems like Chasing Amy 2, just another romantic comedy with Afleck. Not saying CA was bad, just not my favorite

yeah, i'd agree with you if this didn't look to be anything like chasing amy. i mean, where are the lesbians? jason lee? the comic books? just b/c affleck's in it and it's a romantic comedy it looks like chasing amy? whatever. chasing amy's one of the best films of the nineties, so if this movie's as good as that, i'll be more than satisfied.

Chasing Amy was good, but one of the best films of the 90s? Mmmmmmmmm, no.

yes, one of the best of the nineties. it's a quintessential nineties subject, with great comedy, great acting, great direction, a flawless script...how many films from the decade that gave us so many non-classics can you say have that? i can name about twenty or so, but compared to the thousands and thousands that weren't even close to perfection, i'd have to say chasing amy's one of the best.

Dude, I really want to see this. It does look like a departure from his usual films, but not a complete depature. I mean, Liv Tyler works in a video store so. I'm looking forward to it, it looks sweet, but in a good way. --~

Apparantly there's a Jay & Silent Bob animated movie being created by Paragon. The animation is good and there's a trailer hanging around somewhere on Kevin Smith's website, View Askew [www.viewaskew.com].

it's the clerks animated film, 'still clerkin'. they've decided they're going to put them direct-to-video, which is a shame, but also probably a smart move, as they'll sell tons of them.

that's the cartoon that i've known about for awhile now, and being that i read up on view askew.com all the time, i would've heard about something else by now...

newsaskew.com for all those who don't know, but want to.

I DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT THIS!!! I love the animated series. I can't wait for this to come out. I want to see A Night With Kevin Smith and that comic book mocumentary Matt, we should buy it together and share it. I mean, it's got Bruce the Man. --~

yeah, they've been planning and working on the clerks cartoon for awhile now. probably since high school i've known about it...

anyways, they're planning a whole series of clerks cartoon movies for video, at least the last time i read anything about it. it sounds like a really good idea.

that comic book movie might suck. i'll check it out online and see what everyone thinks of it.

I just saw the trailer for Jersey Girl again. I think this is Kevin Smith's attempt at a much more serious movie. Like Chasing Amy, but even more serious for complete lack of Jay and Silent Bob. It also looks really really sappy. Almost undoubtedly inspired by his little daughter.

Even though, it looks really good and I really want to see it. --~
