Is it just me, or is Nintendo's new ad campaign really stupid and has nothing to do with videogames? I mean seriously... think about the Kirby Air Ride commercial... what does that have to do with anything related to who you are or anything like that?

Just the whole concept of "Who Are You" is really dumb, and I wish that by January they'll think of something less crappy. I actually liked Born to Play and Life Advanced... why didn't they keep them? And can't they think of something more creative like MS and Sony? MS having It's Good to Play Together, and Sony having Live in Your World, Play in Ours. What do you think?

Best advertising campaign Nintendo has had in a while. It's fun, it's mysterious and the new commercial with the japanese kids and adults running through the city to get to the gamestore is classic. What is really the big problem I say? I mean you want a bad advertising campaign - think back to Mario Sunshine and its commercials.. gah... scary.

Imagining yourself as a Nintendo character I think is a good psychological way to get people interested again in remembering their roots.

Yeah, I'll agree that Who are you is better than the Mario Sunshine commercials... those made me tear up.

You guys are lucky. You guys get ads for NINTENDO products. But good ol' New Zealand doesn't :(

Nintendo's "Who Are You" campaign is one of the best ideas's the company has had.

And yes, the Super Mario Sunshine commercials were awful.

The only ads we get of gaming are PS2 and X-BOX ads which are really really crap. Their is one ad advertizing the X-Box monster pack that has a green barney figure in a playground surrounded by some little kids. *Shakes head in dissapointment*

hey i love the 'who are you' campaign, and the fan made versions aswell (made a few my self ^_^) infact, most of the nintendo adverts i have seen lately have been awsome (i <3 Berto2k aka Robert Miller)

admitedly i never see any on television, NAL is decidedly pisspoor when it comes it.... anything really, i share GBA's pain (me being australian, the same company looks after both NZ and AU) i've been told the Mario Kart Double Dash!! advert is pretty good, the one with the old lady hurling things at someone else.

The Mario sunshine commercials ruled all of television, what is wrong with you people.

And yes, I seriously liked them.

I think the "who are you" commercials are cool but you mostly see the caracters from the mario game.

Where is my man Starfox:confused:

They probably won't show a Star Fox commercial until the new game comes out.

I like all of the systems ad campaaigns, but i think Xbox's is the best though as it is a simple fact. Everyone knows that it IS good to play together. Playstation2 makes it seem like the system is some sort of fantasy happy world. But the 'Who Are You' commercials kick ass. Can't wait to see Metroid Prime 2's who are you. But right now Fire Emblem's commerial rules supremely.

But I think this was the first one?

i dono, maybe it was. Codematrix was probably the first for this WHO ARE YOU? Dont you just hate how you put up a thread and some dude comes in and makes the same thread after you made the original one. Man, its common sense to look through the threads first to make sure your not having the same name/stuff or whatever. Just annoys me. I put a a well posting TALES OF SYMPHONIA thread and now all these other ones are pooping up from other people. Just to all who read this, dont copy someones thread. Anyway, I think I would be Wario, since I am chubby and I am very greedy...........

I posted a tales thread but there were none others on the page, if i'd seen it i wouldn't have done it alright.

Thats ok, it is kinda hard to find thru all these pages of threads if there already is the thread u wanna post, so no big deal. Does anyone know how to post someone elses reply in your post? I dono how.

I like the who are you commercials, but not as much as the commercials with the pulse thing (like a heart rate monitor). Although I don't understand some of the commercials such as the 1080 Avalanche one

I like the ads, but the magazine ones are kinda cheesy. FOr those of you that haven't seen it, SomethingAwful did a Photoshop Phriday of it

The magazine part of the ad campain really doesn't do anything, but the TV campain is really cool because it's just a way to get thier name out there. They advertise multiplatform games for the GCN that don't advertise on TV on their own.

As far as I've seen (and I watch loads of telly) there hasn't been any "Who Are You?" ads in the UK yet, so I can't really comment.

It's not in the UK yet? Haven't seen any around here either. Of course the north is always the last to get stuff.

Nope, no "Who Are You?" campaign stuff in the UK yet although we are starting to get more Ads (still being completely overshadowed by XBox and PS2 ads though). So far we've had some Viewtiful Joe, Mario Kart: Double Dash!! and Rebel Strike ads... there's also been a few ads for 3rd party stuff (most of which are on the Cube too, but the Cube isn't acknowledged - only mention XBox and/or PS2 versions). There's a great Prince of Persia ad, but it only mentions PS2.

We'll probably get the "Who Are You?" campaign stuff this time next year, lol.

I like it better than the ads from Sony or MS right now, and as far as sales go it certainly seems to be working.

Nintendo's new marketing campaign is great and is actually helping them...Who are you represents the feeling we all get when we really get into a game and feel like we are that character...this campaign just promotes how innovative nintendo is...
