Yes, it is a shame. As I just told someone on the Anime boards who was under the impression that episodes 25 and 26 were the ending to NGE (as you seem to believe as well), watch The End of Evangelion, the movie. It's the alternate episodes 25 and 26... the real ones. It's $20 on DVD. An absolutely mind-blowing ending.

Fine, here goes:

You need to watch "Death & Rebirth" and then "The End Of Evangelion".

I absolutely love Evangelion. It just made me feel so weird, like nothin I have ever watched before.. I guess it was because of the mental attatchment you get with the characters.. The feelings were so deep.

The "End Of Evangelion" can be seen in two ways.. A good or a bad, depending on which side you look on.. A positive or negative side. There's a lot of crazy stuff in the ending and it will screw around with your mind like crazy, and make you feel very very weird and mixed up.

I feel kinda bad about myself because I looked upon the ending as a "bad" thing.. But after speaking with people who have watched it I can see that it can also be a "good" thing..

I really loved every single one of the characters in the series and think they "acted" incredibly. The emotions were perfect and I was so upset to realise it was all over after I had finished watching the 2nd movie..

I am a huge Evangelion fan and would recommend it to anyone.. You must be a little patient though, as it's not like one of those animes that you can just "skip 5 minutes of dialogue" to get to the action bits.

Shooting begins some time in Q4 of 2004 or Q1 of 2005, so I'm guessing the end of 2005.. :(
