Who's interested in this game?
I'm not. I just can't see the fun in hitting a drum over and over...I'm guessing it will be a big hit over there in Japan.
They are also making a series out of it :o
Does anyone know if it is going to be released outside Japan? Or is there any other Donkey Kong titles in development? I hope so.

I think this'll turn out alright, and there's a rumored DK platformer coming to the 'Cube sometime.
Donkey Konga seems like it will be fun. Worth renting for sure, mabye not buying.
It will do well in Japan, but it is yet to be seen how North American and European gamers will look at the game.

Nope. Never owned a Dreamcast or knew of anyone that did. I used to have a set of Bongo Drums and believe me the novelty wears thin reeeeeeal quick.

This is indeed a stupid idea.
If Nintendo really wanted to make a music game, why would they use one of it's star characters? They should first build a fan base from a music game, and maybe add star characters.
Well, Sam, people were skeptical about it. But the title is catchy in terms of it following the game's content (Konga and Conga) and how Donkey Kong has used drums. It just makes sense. Plus, Namco released a similar type of game that never made it across shores (Japanese exclusive I think).

According to codeMatrix, there is a rumoured DK Platformer on the way. Which makes sense. I mean, Nintendo would be crazy not to release one.

personally i can't wait for Donkey Konga, and that 1 minute long advert from japan featuring retarded japanese boy only makes me more excited. having never had the opportunity to own a music game (nintendo consoles only up untill recently) i'm very interested in getting my hands on some, and Donkey Kong is the perfect franchise to work one around, given the use of instruments in DK 64 (not a good game, but you see the connection) oh and i suppose in DKC 2 (Dixie on the guitar ;))
also i wouldn't mind any form of music game featuring remixed music of varying Nintendo games, i can think of some awsome Mario, Zelda, Metroid etc theme's i wouldn't mind dancing to :D

It seems fun enough for a party game, but this is a title I'm definately NOT playing alone!
The controller looks cool though.
(And there is at least one Mario remix in it)

This probably means we won't get a real DK game on the Cube. Guess we gotta wait 'til the next "innovative" console comes out. Just like with Mario (more than likely).

There is a new Donkey Kong game in develop on one of Nintendo first parties studios but no one know if its will be released for the Cube or for the N5.
I blive we will get more info in December 1th or in Nintendo Gamers Day which will take place on next Februar I belive.

Also remember that they were planning on turning DK into a racing game, but since RARE went renegeade, looks like Tendo has also decided to change the DK formula.
not really, given Nintendo has handed Namco the licence for this, there is nothing that indicates that Nintendo themselves arn't producing a Donkey Kong platformer for GCN (2d please? ^_^) anything to escape the collectfest bordom that was DK64, i want fast and furious 2d platforming action that was the absolutely golden DKC series on the SNES.

Im pretty sure, this E3... We will see a new DK game for the cube. Thats how late Nintendo always publish DK games.

I would LOVE to see a 2D Donkey Kong platformer... I'd buy it the second they unloaded it onto the shelves. Something tells me we aren't going to get one though.

nah not cellshading, it's been done, i would rather total graphic whore fully 3d rendered everything, a fully pimped out update from the beautiful SNES classics to beautfiul GCN goodness, that and i don't really see cellshading working for Donkey Kong, it just can't work in my mind.

Why? I think its a great idea... I mean, why not? It will bring that old school DK feeling we all know and love.
If they cell shade it will end up like The Hulk (Bad, I don't like it personally)

I realy loved DK series on the Snes but a 2d game? only for the GBA .. if Nintendo will release a new DK for the GBA it gona be fantastic, but I dont belive they will.
Anyway in second opinion you right, CelDONKEY is bad idea ...
but I realy have no guse how can Nintendo make a full 3D platform game on Donkeykong style, even Rare didnt successed well...
We will see... anyway I sure Nintendo will use all her best franchise for the next "released games" system and I hope DK will be one of them.

Donkey konga sounds like it will suck but nintendo's never let me down before.
Metroid prime sounded like it would suck, but nintendo got the perfect tream at retro to mke it not suck
What about Wind waker it kicked as* but sounded stupid.
I cant believe you still don't trust nintendo after all of that.
I would like a new normal donkey kong game though, 2 or 3 D

I was just at a videogames store in Osaka today, and saw some ad for Donkey Konga. I'm not sure whetehr you've all seen it yet (prolly), but there's no associated media on THE NEW GCA *cough* so meh.
It was like Dance Dance somewhat, except you have varying strength hits and stuff. I didn't see much - I had my back turned, as I was ment to be filling out a form in Japanese for the store's loyalty program, LOL. If there's any more cool gamign stuff here, I'll check it out.

I never once thought Metroid Prime would suck. I also don't recall saying Donkey Konga is going to suck, it's just I think it would be crap compared to what a Cubed DK Platformer would be.

I was one of the few people at the old GCA boards that said Metroid Prime was going to be this great of a game. Everyone said I was crazy... But, I was right.

I remember people at old GCA and GCXL (shudder) who said that too, Nick. I was never a huge an of the old Metroids (still never played Super) and I love FPS and Platformers..which pretty much is what MP turned out to be.

Namco should've taken that DK Racing game and finished making it. t looked pretty fun if you ask me. Donkey Konga doesn't look that fun but then again Nintendo can make anything fun.Does anyone else think Namco is like the 'new rare'. I mean they make most of nintendo's big games similar to Rare.

I was telling the same thing back there. But people were like ohh it will ruin the game. I think people shouldn't say how good or bad a game will be if its not out yet.
Justus...I mean if you dont like it...dont bother talking about it. some people will enjoy. I know people that love those kinda games. And on your first post on this thread you were asking people why they use donkey kong for this game. maybe to get the title some attention and to sell better cause of the name.
I mean those it have a North America release date...maybe its not even coming here....
